  • Planning commission creates overlay zone for business park

    A few months ago the planning commission was approached with concerns regarding the Cynthiana-Harrison County Business Park.
    The planning commission felt it was appropriate to address these concerns while still guiding development in an appropriate manner.  
    A task force, including planning commission members, planning staff, elected officials and a local citizen, was established to review current regulations and discuss options specifically for the business park.

  • Beware of utility scam

    Last week, a Blue Grass Energy member received a phone call from a man claiming to be from Blue Grass Energy. The caller informed the member that his meter had to be changed and his power would be off for 72 hours. If he could pay $900 on a prepaid debit card, the process could be expedited.
    This is a utility scam that has been running in multiple states since the summer.

  • KBC pheresis bus to make first visit in Harrison Co.

    Kentucky Blood Center (KBC) is offering donors a new opportunity to save lives – pheresis donations on the road.
    KBC now has a bloodmobile dedicated to pheresis donations, a specialized donation procedure which was previously done only in KBC donor centers.  
    The KBC pheresis bus, making its first visit to Harrison County, will be at Harrison Memorial Hospital on Tuesday, Nov. 26 from noon to 6 p.m.
