    It has come the attention at Harrison Memorial Hospital that individuals in the community are receiving phone calls from an 866-218-7985 number. With an automated call, identifying itself as “Harrison Memorial Hospital.”
    We want to make it clear that these calls are not from Harrison Memorial Hospital. We are not requesting refills on medications. This is a scam.
    For your protection, do not give them any information and disconnect immediately. Never divulge your personal information.

  • Kuster participates in 2013 District Judges Fall College

    District Court Judge Charles W. Kuster, who serves Harrison, Nicholas, Pendleton and Robertson counties, participated in the 2013 District Judges Fall College that took place Nov. 4-6 in Lexington.
    The Administrative Office of the Courts provided the judicial education program for the state’s district judges.
    The district court judges attended courses about veterans treatment courts, juvenile justice, human trafficking, cybercrime, substance abuse, court technology and court interpreting for individuals who are deaf or non-English-speaking.

  • Harrison County approved for $7,500 for deceased farm animal removal program

    The Kentucky Agricultural Development Board, chaired by Gov. Steve Beshear, approved $7,500 at its monthly meeting in support of a Deceased Farm Animal Removal Program in Harrison County. The Harrison County Fiscal Court submitted a proposal to the Harrison County Agricultural Development Council and the Kentucky Agricultural Development Board.

  • Planning commission creates overlay zone for business park

    A few months ago the planning commission was approached with concerns regarding the Cynthiana-Harrison County Business Park.
    The planning commission felt it was appropriate to address these concerns while still guiding development in an appropriate manner.  
    A task force, including planning commission members, planning staff, elected officials and a local citizen, was established to review current regulations and discuss options specifically for the business park.

  • Beware of utility scam

    Last week, a Blue Grass Energy member received a phone call from a man claiming to be from Blue Grass Energy. The caller informed the member that his meter had to be changed and his power would be off for 72 hours. If he could pay $900 on a prepaid debit card, the process could be expedited.
    This is a utility scam that has been running in multiple states since the summer.
