  • Drs. Wright and Moses add new provider to staff

    Dr. A.C. Wright and Dr. Stephen Moses announce the addition of Jeannie Kilpela, Nurse Practitioner (APRN) to the staff.
    A native of Cynthiana, Ky., Kilpela is a 1998 graduate of Harrison County High School.  In 2006, she received her associate of science degree in nursing from Lexington Community College in Lexington, Ky. She received her bachelor’s degree in nursing from the University of Phoenix in 2009. In 2011, Kilpela received her masters of science in nursing from Frontier School of Midwifery and Family Nursing.

  • Three O'Clock play to take place at Kentucky State Fair

    harriCyn Community Theatre is taking its latest show, Three O’Clock: A ten-minute play to the Kentucky State Fair in Louisville for one performance at 3 p.m. on Aug. 21. The play, which is about Alzheimer’s disease, is by local playwright William H. McCann Jr.
    Three O’Clock stars James Smith (Harrisson), Angela Curtis (Eleanor) and Robin Glascock (Dr. Mary Ellis). McCann is directing the show. Laura Stephens and Missy Lutz are the stage managers.

  • McDonald’s Restaurants fight back against cancer through Relay For Life fund raiser

    Several McDonald’s restaurants from across Kentucky will be serving up hope along with their menu items through donations to local Relay For Life events.
    On Thursday, Aug. 16, the Cynthiana McDonald’s will donate 50 cents from each value meal and salad sold between 5-7 p.m.

    Bourbon Community Hospital’s Sleep Lab was recently surveyed by the American Academy of Sleep Medicine (AASM) and granted re-accreditation for another five years. This puts the lab among the ranks of an AASM Accredited Center.   
    Bourbon Community Hospital has been a leader in the sleep field having opened its Sleep Lab in 1995. It was one of the first in Kentucky to be accredited by the American Academy of Sleep Medicine.

    •Monday, Aug. 13 at 6 p.m. - “Introduction to the Internet and Basic Internet Usage”
    •Monday, Aug. 20 at 6 p.m. - “Resume Class” Come to learn how to use the new program at the library Cypress Resume
    •Monday, Sept. 10 at 6 p.m.  - “Social Media/Internet Privacy” – This is the same class being offered on Sept. 17. This is a one session class.
