The Kentucky Cabinet for Health and Family Services is urging the public to take steps to avoid injury and illness during extreme heat, particularly dangers associated with leaving children in vehicles.

Community Action Council for Lexington-Fayette, Bourbon, Harrison, and Nicholas counties announces participation in the USDA Child and Adult Care Food Program administered by the Kentucky Department of Education.
Meals will be served at no separate charge to enrolled participants at the center and are provided without regard to race, color, national origin, sex, age or disability. If you believe you or any individual has been discriminated against in the Child and Adult Care Food Program, write immediately to the Secretary of Agriculture, Washington, D.C. 20250.

PFC-Derik Baldwin, son of Tryna Spenneberg of Somerset, Ky., and Jake (Terry) Baldwin, also of  Somerset, graduated from Ft. Leonard Wood, Mo., June 23, 2011 after completing his basic training and AIT schooling in Ft. Leonard Wood.
Baldwin is a 2004 graduate of Pulaski County High School. He is an MP (military police) in the army. Baldwin, his wife Stephanie and their two sons, Aiden and Elijah, will be stationed at Ft. Leonard Wood.

Harrison Memorial Hospital has moved one step further toward providing seamless health care within the community by opening The Clinic at Walmart inside the Walmart store in Cynthiana. The walk-in clinic, which is operated by the professionals at Harrison Memorial Hospital, will provide basic healthcare services seven days a week, with no appointment necessary. The walk-in health clinic is the first-owned and operated by Harrison Memorial Hospital in a Walmart.
