• HMH opens Kid Town Before and After School Program

    In an effort to extend services in our community, Harrison Memorial Hospital has expanded its child care services.
    The Toddler Village Day Care Center was created in 1983 for HMH employees. In 1996, HMH expanded the center to its current location and made the center open to the public.
    With the expansion, HMH is pleased to now offer our Kid Town Before and After School Program for children ages Kindergarten through fifth grade.

  • O’Reilly Auto Parts has opened in Cynthiana

    O’Reilly Auto Parts (NASDAQ: ORLY) has announced the opening of its store in Cynthiana at 775 US 27 South.
    The store will be celebrating its grand opening that will run Sept. 16 - 29. As part of the grand opening celebration, there will be a ribbon-cutting ceremony on Friday, Sept. 25, at 11 a.m.
    Store Manager Larry Jones, on behalf of the entire company, will present a $200 check to the food bank. O’Reilly Auto Parts is honored to be a part of such a worthwhile organization.

  • Natural gas price falls to 20-year low for Columbia Gas of Kentucky customers

    This week the price of natural gas paid by Columbia Gas of Kentucky customers will fall to its lowest level in 20 years. Columbia Gas of Kentucky’s gas supply cost will decrease to $2.7190 per Mcf (1,000 cubic feet) – a 48 percent decrease – effective August 28. The new gas supply cost will remain in effect until the next scheduled Gas Cost Adjustment in December 2015.

  • Nell W. McCauley joins National Communications Board

    Harrison County’s Nell Withers McCauley, Southeaster Data Cooperative communications advisor, has been elected to serve on the Certified Cooperative Communicators (CCC) board of directors.
    McCauley earned her CCC certification in 1992 and is one of approximately 214 CCCs nationwide; five work for electric cooperatives in Kentucky.

    It was about 27 years ago when long-time friends Allen Cooper and Mike Gaunce first started kicking around the idea of opening a business together.
    It was about 13 years ago when the friends decided they should open a machine-shop type business and wrote a business plan.
    It was two years ago when they decided to actually go for it.
     Now, more than two decades after first throwing the idea out there, they’ve done it.

  • Eugonda Fryman joins HMH Physician Group: Primary Care

    HMH Physician Group: Primary Care announces the addition of Eugonda Fryman, Advanced Practice Registered Nurse (APRN), to the staff. She will join Dr. Shane Gainey and Dixie Davidson, PA-C.
    Gainey began his primary care practice at 439 E. Pleasant St. in Cynthiana - the site of the former practice of Dr. Don Stephens - in late November 2013.
