• HMH Physical Therapist Paul Horne receives wound specialist certification

    Established in 1995, the American Board of Wound Management (ABWM) is dedicated to the multidisciplinary team approach in promoting the science of prevention, care and treatment of acute and chronic wounds. The primary function is to establish and monitor a national certification process, recognize competency, promote education/research, and elevate the standard of care across the continuum of wound management. Currently, the ABWM has certified approximately 3,700 individuals nationwide with their three wound management designations.

    On Monday, June 27, Field & Main Bank broke ground on a new Cynthiana banking center.
    Located at the corner of Bridge and Main streets, at the former location of Movie Warehouse, the new banking center is designed to create an innovative banking experience that brings together the latest technologies with a personal touch.
    Field & Main was formed in January 2015 with the merger of Ohio Valley Financial Group and BankTrust Financial.

    The National Association of County and City Health Officials (NACCHO) announces the 2016-2017 election results for NACCHO Officers and Board of Directors.
    We wish to extend our deepest gratitude and appreciation to Alina Alonso, MD, Director of the Florida Department of Health in Palm Beach, Fla. who is stepping down.  She has served on NACCHO’s Board since July 2011 and has been a valued member of both the Executive and Finance Committees respectively.

  • Local circuit court clerk participates in spring conference in Frankfort

    Harrison County Circuit Court Clerk Teresa Furnish participated in the 2016 Circuit Court Clerks Spring Conference on April 19-20 in Frankfort.
    The Administrative Office of the Courts and the Kentucky Association of Circuit Court Clerks provided the education program for the state’s circuit court clerks. The Kentucky Association of Counties hosted the event at its headquarters.

    Lung cancer is the number one leading cause of cancer-related deaths in the United States due to the fact that it is not often found until the latest stages. Since early detection is a proven, successful strategy for fighting many forms of cancer, Harrison Memorial Hospital is now offering the low-dose CT lung cancer screening program. The low-dose CT scan has been proven to save lives by discovering lung cancer in its earliest stages before symptoms occur.
    Individuals at high risk for lung cancer are:

  • TMMK recognizes top volunteers for 2015

    Toyota Motor Manufacturing, Kentucky, Inc. (TMMK) is recognizing its top volunteers for 2015, including Kathy Combs, Sadieville, Ky. resident, who took home the company’s “Volunteer of the Year” award.
    Collectively, the group of 11 Central Kentucky do-gooders clocked in over 5,600 service hours last year while raising funds and awareness for causes, volunteering at local schools and pitching in to help the organizations that help those in need.
