  • Evan Vance Alviso Fitzwater, stillborn

    Evan Vance Alviso Fitzwater, son of Sergio Alviso and Amy L. Fitzwater of Cynthiana, was stillborn Friday, Dec. 7, 2007 at the University of Kentucky Medical Center in Lexington.

    Besides his parents, he is survived by a sister, Sadie Rosalind Pack and a maternal grandfather, H. B. Fitzwater, both of Cynthiana.

    He is preceded in death by maternal grandmother, Eva Jean Hawkins Fitzwater.

    Graveside services were conducted Friday, Dec. 14 at Battle Grove Cemetery by the Rev. Bobby Duncan.

    Ware Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.

  • Diana Chandler Moffitt Gardner, 92

    Diana Chandler Moffitt Gardner, 92, a resident of Cedar Ridge Health Care Campus, died Friday, Dec. 14, 2007, at Harrison Memorial Hospital.

    Born in High Point, N.C., Sept. 4, 1915, to the late John Walker and Margaret Davis Chandler, she was a retired employee of the State of Florida having co-ordinated the welcome wagon for the state of Florida, she had also been secretary for the Govenor of North Carolina, and was a former member of the Wesley Memorial United Methodist Church in High Point.

    Her husband Winston Churchill Gardner preceded her in death.

  • Herman H. Williams, 71

    Herman H. Williams, 71, a resident of Falmouth, Ky., died Wednesday, Dec. 12, 2007, at St. Luke Hospital East in Ft. Thomas, Ky.

    He was born on July 23, 1936 in Pendleton County, Ky., a son of the late Edwin and Anna Lee McClanahan Williams. On Oct. 1, 1955, he married Wilma Jean Moorhead Williams, and his wife of 52 years survives his passing.

  • Martha Mae Martin Robertson, 91

    Martha Mae Martin Robertson, 91, a resident of Grand Haven Nursing Home, died Saturday, Dec. 15, 2007, at Harrison Memorial Hospital.

    Born in Rockcastle County, Ky., Sept. 13, 1916, to the late Thomas and Lindie Jackson Martin, she was a member of the Baptist faith, a housewife and mother.

    Survivors include: her children, J. D. Robertson, Arizona, Edward Robertson, Ohio,Roy Robertson, New York, Wayne Robertson, Kentucky, Elizabeth Iona Lawson,Burgin, Ky., and Linda G. Harvey, California; and several grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

  • Ottis Clay Florence, 88

    Ottis Clay Florence, 88, widower of Gladys Goins Florence died Wednesday, Dec. 12, 2007 at Heritage Hall Nursing Home.

    He was born in Harrison County, Ky., July 24, 1919, and was the son of the late Robert Newton Florence and Carrie Dallas Whithers Florence. He served in World War II.

    Survivors include: sons, Robert Florence of Lawrenceburg, Ky., and Russell Florence of Ohio; a daughter, Margaret Sludder of Williamston, Ky.; eight grandchildren; a number of great-grandchildren, including a great-great-grandson, Tyler McIntyre.

  • Edna Marie Thomas, 84

    Edna Marie Thomas, 84, of Cynthiana, Ky., died Saturday, Dec. 15, 2007, at her residence.

    She was born in Pendleton County, Ky., Nov. 20, 1923, to the late Nim Harrison and Stella Grayson Wedding. She was a member of Oakwood Baptist Church and had been employed by Bluegrass Industries and Jockey.

    Survivors include: one son, Grover Harrison Scott and daughter-in-law Sheena, Cynthiana; one brother, Paul Wedding, Cynthiana; four grandchildren, Shannon(Tom) Armstrong, Julie (Jesse) Yarnell, Grover (Kristy) Scott Jr., and Gina Scott; and 15 great-grandchildren.

  • Don Avery Earlywine, 48

    Don Avery Earlywine, 48, Mt. Olivet, died Friday Dec. 7, 2007, from injuries sustained in an automobile accident.

    Born in Robertson County, Aug. 2, 1959, to Shirley Galvan of Tipton Georgia and the late Billy Eugene Earlywine, he was a Traditions Golf Club employee.

    Besides his father, he was preceded in death by a grandson, William Everett ?Little Billy? Earlywine.

  • Maryann Waits Price, 81

    Maryann Waits Price, 81, a resident of Lexington,Ky., died Monday, Dec. 10, 2007.

    She was born Feb. 19, 1926, daughter of Anna Sue Miller Waits and the sister of Margaret Drane Whaley, both of Cynthiana.

    She worked on an Army Air Corps base during World War II, and worked for the Comprehensive Care Center and Beacon House of Cynthiana for over 20 years

    She married William Sterling Price in 1947 and had four children, Sue Margaret Price in 1953, William Sterling Price Jr. in 1955, Elizabeth Vimont Price in 1956, and Mark Clay Price in 1959.
