• Mary Louise Fitzgerald Quillin, 84

    Mary Louise Fitzgerald Quillin, 84, a resident of Lexington died Tuesday, Feb. 12, 2008.

    She was preceded in death by her brother, Bud Fitzgerald, and her husband, Dr. Ralph C. Quillin M.D.

    She was born in Bourbon County Feb. 24, 1923 to the late Thomas Sylvester and Beada Morgan Fitzgerald. She graduated from the St. Josephs Nazareth School of Nursing in 1945, and was a member of St. Paul Catholic Church.

  • Patricia Simms Sumner, 59

    Patricia Simms Sumner, 59, died Sunday, Feb. 10, 2008 at her home.

    She was born Dec. 2, 1948 in Harrison County, the daughter of the late Betty Donovan Simms and Tommy Simms. She was raised by her uncle and aunt, Dorothy Fuller of Cynthiana and the late Charles Fuller.

    She served 25 years as assistant food services manager at the Fayette County Detention Center and was a licensed hairdresser.

  • Glenn D. McClanahan, 80

    Glenn D. McClanahan, 80, of the Lenoxburg community, died Monday, Feb. 18, 2008 at St. Elizabeth Hospital South.

    Born in Augusta, Ky., on April 18, 1927, the son of the late Earl and Fay Rhinehart McClanahan, he was a retired millwright with Local 1454 and retired from the ministry from the Berlin Baptist Church. He was a Korean War Veteran, a member of the Cemetery Chapel Christian Church and the Masonic Lodge F&AM 80, Augusta, KY.

    Jerry Ross Shepperd, 37, a resident of Rockford, Ill., formerly of Berry, Ky., died Wednesday, Feb. 13, 2008.

    He was born on Dec. 3, 1969, a son of the late Allen Shepperd and Emma Sue Cummins Rardin.

  • George S. Bradley, 59

    George S. Bradley, 59, US Army Ret., a resident of Sydney Drive, Mt. Sterling, Ky., died Monday, Feb. 18, 2008 at St. Joseph Hospital, Lexington.

    Survivors include: his wife of 40 years, Joyce Bowman Bradley; a son, George S. (Angie) Bradley Jr.; a granddaughter, Brittany Bradley; and a grandson, Jacob Bradley.

    Funeral services will be held Thursday, Feb. 21 at 11 a.m. at Taul Funeral Home in Mt. Sterling. Visitation will be Wednesday, Feb. 20 from 6-9 p.m. at the funeral home. Burial will be in Battle Grove Cemetery.

    Estill Harding Walton, 86, husband of Leona Flora Walton, died Saturday, Feb. 16, 2008 at Nicholas County Hospital.

    He was born Dec. 11, 1921 in Nicholas County to the late Hanson and Emma Yazell Walton. He was a U.S. Army veteran of World War II, a farmer and horse breeder, a charter member of V.F.W. Post 8666 where he was a past commander and a lifetime member, a member of the Painted Horse Association and a member of Ishmael Chapel Church. In 1982 he was honored for participating in the parade commemorating the 200th anniversary of the Battle of Blue Licks.

    Carl Douglas Pergram, infant son of Carl and Pamela Insko Pergram, was stillborn Saturday, Feb. 9, 2008 at Harrison Memorial Hospital.

    Besides his parents, he is survived by a sister, Athena Collins; maternal grandparents, Paul and Kathy Miller Weber of Harrison County, and Randall Insko of Cynthiana; paternal grandparents, Jeff and Wanda Ledford Pergram of Harrison County; maternal great-grandparents, Geneva French of Cynthiana, Phillip Clay (Hilda) Insko of Mt. Olivet, and Roy C. (Hilda) Earlywine of Bourbon County; and paternal great-grandfather, Ray Ledford of Harrison County.

    He was born in Harrison County, Jan. 19, 1957, to the late Freddie and Nellie June Fowler Roberts. He was owner and operator of Roberts Guttering.

    Born in Cynthiana, March 20, 1968, to Donald and Elthea Adkins Herrington, she was preceded in death by a brother, William Holland Jr.; a granddaughter, Alannah Whisman and grandparents, Tennessee and Mildred Adkins and Ruby Herrington.
