    Paul A. Rainey, 82, a resident of Louisville, Ky., died Tuesday, March 18, 2008 at Baptist Hospital East.

    He was a native of Claysville, Ky., a retired detective for L&N Railroad, an Army Air Force veteran of World War II, member of the VFW Zachary Taylor Post # 180 and Claysville Christian Church.

    He is survived by his wife, the former Gwendolyn McCauley; sons, Randy Rainey (Deborah) and Kerry Rainey; granddaughter, Erin Rainey; grandsons, Brent and Wesley Rainey; a niece, Linda Barnes; and two nephews, Perry Kinney and David Kinney.

    Charles L. Adair, 58, Lexington, formerly of Cynthiana, died Friday, March 14, 2008, at the Hospice Care Center at St. Joseph Hospital in Lexington.

    Born in Harrison County, March 15, 1949, to the late Rodney C. and George Anna Wilson Adair, he joined the St. James A.M.E. Church in Cynthiana at an early age, was a certified occupational therapy assistant at St. Joseph Hospital in Lexington and was a United States Navy Veteran.

    Besides his parents, he was preceded in death by a sister, Cathy Faye Adair.

    Glendon T. Ramsey, 73, a resident of Butler, died Friday, March 14, 2008, at the V.A. Medical Center in Cincinnati, Ohio.

    Gerald "Jerry" Ruebusch, 72, a resident of Harborside Healthcare in Florence, formerly of Cynthiana, died Thursday, March 13, 2008, at the nursing home.

    Born in Cincinnati, Feb. 15, 1936, to the late Herman and Frieda Gunn Ruebusch, he was a retired Internal Revenue Service employee and a member of the St. Edward Catholic Church.

    Besides his parents, he was preceded in death by a brother, Robert Ruebusch.

    Willard W. Schneider, 73, a resident of Broadway Avenue, Cynthiana, died Tuesday, March 11, 2008, at his residence.

    He was born in Perkins Ridge, Ohio, May 27, 1934, to the late Earl and Alice Ethel Murdock Schneider. He was a retired Grede employee and a former McCalls Printing Company employee.

    Orie Linus Pugh, 90, of Cynthiana, died on Saturday, March 15, 2008 at the River Valley Nursing Home in Butler, Ky.

    Born on Dec. 20, 1917, he was the oldest son of the late Quincy and Irene Traylor Pugh, he married Berndina Hester Pugh and his wife preceded him in death on March 13, 1999.

    He was a lifelong farmer, member of the Mt. Gilead Christian Church, member and Past Master of the Claysville Masonic Lodge, member of the Cynthiana chapter of the Masonic Lodge and member and past worthy patron of the Order of the Eastern Star in Falmouth.

    Donnarae Augusta Brown Sterrett, 65, Turfway Lane, Cynthiana, formerly of Vermillion, S.D., died Monday, March 10, 2008, at Harrison Memorial Hospital.

    Born in Clay County, S.D., Aug. 1, 1942 to Alice Delaney Brown of Vermillion, S.D. and the late Wilbert Brown, she was a retired 3M Company employee.

    Besides her father, she was preceded in death by a brother, Bruce Brown.

    Jacob A. Wagel, 87, of Bryan, Ohio, formerly of Brooksville, KY, died Saturday March 15, 2008.

    Born on Dec. 12, 1920 in Brooksville, Ky., the son of the late John and Rose Iseringhausem Wagel, he was a retired factory worker and farmer and had also worked at Deaconess Hospital, and Bracken County Senior Citizens. He was a Deacon at St. Paul Lutheran Church, Augusta, Ky., a Kentucky Colonel, and a member of the Bracken County Helping Hands Club.

    She was born in Nicholas County, Ky. on Saturday, Jan. 23, 1926, a daughter of the late Edward Lawrence and Lucye Ross Rankin.
