  • Austin Andrew Galbreath, 22

    Austin Andrew Galbreath, 22, Cynthiana, died Monday, May 14, 2012 from injuries sustained in an automobile accident.
    He was born in Fayette County, March 2, 1990 to John B. and Becky Duckworth Galbreath of Harrison County. He was a ASE Certified Collision Repair Technician for Cockrell’s Auto Center, a member of Beaver Baptist Church and had a passion for trucks, his job and hanging out with his friends.
    He was preceded in death by his paternal grandparents, Joe and Lillie Marsh and a paternal uncle, William Galbreath.

    Clyde Gullette, 77, Cynthiana, died Saturday, May 12, 2012 at his nephew’s home.
    He was the son of the late Clay Estill and Lucinda Beatrice Shanks Gullette.
    There are no services at this time.
    Ware Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.

    Ronnie Lee Asbury, 52, Mt. Olivet, died Friday, May 11, 2012, at his residence.
    He was the son of the late Vernon Sr. and Helen June Lipscomb Asbury.
    Survivors include: his wife, Penny Colemire Asbury; a son, Andrew Asbury, Mt. Olivet; and three daughters, Laura Asbury, Rhonda Asbury and Jamie Asbury, all of Mt. Olivet.
    Services will be held at the convenience of the family.  Robertson County Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.

  • Bessie Lee Bruin Gooden, 94

    Bessie Lee Bruin Gooden, 94, Cynthiana, died Saturday, May 12, 2012 at St. Joseph East Hospital in Lexington.
    Besides her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Thomas Gooden and a stepson, James Bruin.  
    Survivors include: five sons, Harold Bruin, L.C. Bruin and Garnett Bruin, all of Cynthiana, Frank Bruin, Carlisle and Wayne Bruin, Richmond; and two daughters, Jan Radsvick, Lexington and B.J. Blangsted, Tucson, Ariz..

    Thruston Stewart Doan, 52, of Little Rock, Ark., was born on Feb. 18, 1960 and died suddenly on May 10, 2012.

  • Vada Phillips, 94

    Vada Phillips, 94, former Fayette County teacher, died May 6, 2012, in Stuart, Fla.
    She lived on Lakeshore drive in Lexington, but was being cared for by her son in Florida at the time of her death.
    She was born March 4, 1918, in Harrison County, Ky., the daughter of Frank and Ada (Switzer) Dixon. She was a graduate of Eastern Kentucky University. did graduate work at the University of Kentucky, taught school in Fayette County, Ky. for 30 years, teaching at Lafayette, Leestown Junior High and Beaumont Junior High.

    Rena Beth McNabb Hughes, 51, Cynthiana, died Wednesday, May 9, 2012 at the University of Kentucky Medical Center.
    She was born in Cynthiana, Dec. 12, 1960 to Ruth Jenkins McNabb and the late Paul Donald McNabb. She was a member of Covenant Presbyterian Church and was a corporate secretary at Ken’s New Market.
    She was preceded in death by her sister, Melissa Hall.

  • Clarine Margaret Cleaver Prebble, 97

    Clarine Margaret Cleaver Prebble, 97, Cynthiana, retired secretary for Southside School and widow of Milton Thomas Prebble, died Wednesday, May 9, 2012 at her home.
    She was born Dec. 11, 1914 in Nicholas County, daughter of the late Bruce and Ethel Ishmael Cleaver. She was a graduate of Little Rock High School, a member of Mount Carmel Christian Church, and a member of Ewalt Homemakers.

  • Lisa Marie Whiteford Vaughn, 37

    Lisa Marie Whiteford Vaughn, 37, Ammerman Pike, died Tuesday, May 8, 2012.
    She was born in Dearborn County, Ind., June 23, 1974, to Michael Whiteford of Jackson, Tenn. and Carolyn Sue Murray Herron of Hamilton, Ohio. She was a Kentucky Housing Corporation employee.

    Gerald Wayne Reffett, 61, of Cynthiana, Ky., died Friday, May 4, 2012, at Harrison Memorial Hospital.
    He was born in Harrison County, Ky. on June 26, 1950, to Howard Ernest and Ruth Jeanette Wilson Reffett. He was a member of Elmarch United Methodist Church and an employee of 3M and was an avid fisherman.
