  • * Cynthiana Democrat, May 30, 1929 - “A judgment was ordered on the books of Harrison Circuit Court Monday ordering the Commissioners of the City of Cynthiana to meet Tuesday night and grant the Clarence LeBus Estate a permit to build a gasoline filling station at the southwest corner of Pike and Church sts. The residence property on the corner known as the Sue Talbott property and bought by the late Clarence LeBus a few years ago, will be razed. It is said the filling station, to be operated by the Texas Corporation, will cost more than $15,000.

  • Matthew Allen Craycraft

    Matthew Allen Craycraft was born to Steven A. and Rebecca K. Craycraft II of Cynthiana on June 12, 2009, at Harrison Memorial Hospital. He weighed 10 lbs. 7 oz., and is welcomed by his brothers Jacob and Nicholas Craycraft.

    Maternal grandparents are Larry and Karen Tubbs of Millersburg, Ky.

    Paternal grandparents are Steve and Sherry Craycraft of Cynthiana.

  • Taylor Katherine Florence

    Taylor Katherine Florence was born to Seth and Lindsey Florence of Cynthiana on June 15, 2009 at the University of Kentucky Hospital. She weighed 7 lbs. 5 oz.

    Maternal grandparents are Wayne and Kay Conner; maternal great-grandparents are Julian and Peggy Gray and Bill Conner and the late Edna Conner.

    Paternal grandparents are Deeann Ruppert and Rick Florence.

    Boyers Chapel Methodist Church will be having revival services Wednesday, July 22-26. Evangelist will be Dan Frederick Ministries. Special music will begin at 6:30 and services at 7.

    Berry City Commission will meet Thursday, July 9 at 7 p.m., at Berry City Hall. The meetings are open to the public.

    Adult Book Group. The book The Knitting Circle by Ann Hood will be the selection for July and is now available for pick-up at the Cynthiana-Harrison County Public Library. The group will meet Thursday, July 9 at 6 p.m. Refreshments will be provided.

    The descendents of Purnell and Ziporah Toadvine will have their annual family reunion and potluck dinner Sunday, July 19. It will be held in the fellowship hall of the Curry United Methodist Church at 1 p.m. Tableware, drinks and ice will be furnished.
