  • Ashley Jane Wagoner and Evaline Jean Wagoner were born to John and Sally Wagoner of Cynthiana on June 26, 2009 at Harrison Memorial Hospital.

    They weighed 6 lbs. 15 oz. and 6 lbs. 13 oz. and are welcomed home by their brother Cody Garett and sister Jessica Marie.

    Maternal grandparents are William Donald and Jane Fryman of Cynthiana.

    Paternal grandparents are the late Garnett and Mattie Wagoner of Cynthiana.

    Maternal great-grandparents are Icie Cooper and the late Willard Cooper and the late Jed and Annie Fryman.

  • BOYERS CHAPEL METHODIST CHURCH

    Boyers Chapel Methodist Church will be having a revival July 22-26.

    Dan Frederick of Frederick Ministries will be the evangelist.

    Special music begins at 6:30 p.m. every night, with services beginning at 7 p.m.

    Performers include South of Heaven on Thursday, Bluegrass Gospel Travelers on Friday, Jim Cassidy on Saturday and Dan Frederick on Sunday morning.

    There will be a potluck meal Saturday, July 25 at 5 p.m.

    Child care will be provided.

    The church pastor is Barry Holland.

    Mandala Art with Lisa Hurst on Thursday, July 23 for ages 14 and up. This is a free workshop with all materials provided. Program starts at 6 p.m. Pre-registration appreciated.

    Democratic Women’s Club of Harrison County will meet Friday, July 24 at noon at the Cynthiana Country Club. Becky Barnes, editor at the Cynthiana Democrat, will be the guest speaker with a special program by Gracie, Annie and Jakob Furnish. All Democrats are welcome to attend.

  • * Cynthiana Democrat, Nov. 7, 1929 - “A wagon which was built by Henry Cromwell, grandfather of Mayor John M. Cromwell, is still in use in this county on the farm of John Ingles. It is used to haul a portable cane mill. Aside from being of ancient vintage, the wagon has an interesting history having been confiscated during the war by Captain Joe Desha from Colonel Adam Renaker, to carry a large quantity of bacon which had been confiscated from J. W. Peck.

    Kaylee Rae Lea was born to Keith and Kenna Rae Lea of Cynthiana on Jan. 6, 2009 at Harrison Memorial Hospital. She weighed 5 lbs. 3 oz., and is welcomed by her brothers, Whyatt and Weston Lea.

     

    Maternal grandparents are Mark Withrow and Suzie Epperson of Cynthiana; maternal great-grandparents are the late Kenneth and Mary Epperson.

     

    Paternal grandparents are Wendell Lea of Cynthiana and the late Annetta Dennie; paternal great-grandparents are Jr. and Betty Lea, and Jr. and Violet Dennie.

  • HCHS CLASS OF 1999

    The Harrison County High School Class of 1999 invites all HCHS Class of 1999 alumni to a luau at the Cynthiana Country Club on Aug. 29 from 7 to 11 p.m.

    A cocktail hour will begin at 7 p.m., with dinner served at 8 p.m.  Cost is $30 for one person, or $50 for a couple.

    Harrison County Historical Society will meet Thursday July 16 at 7 p.m. at the Cynthiana-Harrison County Public Library. The program will be a Historical Show and Tell. Members are requested to bring in one or more items of interest and a little about the items. Everyone is welcome and encouraged to attend.

    FRIDAY, July 17

    Bookmobile. The Cynthiana-Harrison County Public Library Bookmobile will be available Friday, July 17 at Grand Haven at 3 p.m.
