  • The National FFA Organization announces that Tanner Hudgins of Cynthiana was selected as a national finalist for the National FFA Proficiency Award in Agricultural Mechanics Repair and Maintenance - Entrepreneurship. Hudgins is one of four chosen to compete for this award at the national finals to be held in October during the FFA national convention in Indianapolis, Ind.

    Author Visit. Thursday, Sept. 3 at 5:30 p.m. in the Feix Community Room at the Cynthiana-Harrison County Public Library. Author Jan Watson will be talking about her newest book Sweetwater Run. She is also the author of Troublesome Creek, Willow Springs, and Torrent Falls.

    Fish Fry and Gospel Music. Hosted by Berry United Methodist Church, Friday, Sept. 4 at the Harrison County 4-H Fairgrounds. Serving time is  5-10 p.m. Cost is $5. Gospel music starts at 6 p.m. Everyone is welcome.

    A fish fry and gospel music, hosted by Berry United Methodist Church, will be held Friday, Sept. 4 at the Harrison County 4-H Fairgrounds. Serving time is  5-10 p.m. Cost is $5. Gospel music starts at 6 p.m. by Earl Gross and various local singers.

    Fish will be cooked by David Turner-honor of Bluegrass Smokers. Everyone is welcome.

  • Lauren Christine Ecklar

    Anthony and Danita Ecklar announce the birth of their daughter, Lauren Christine Ecklar on July 29, 2009 at Harrison Memorial Hospital. She weighed 6 lbs. 5 oz.

  • The deadline for the Phase I programs that are open is Aug. 31. The programs open are: Hay and Grain Storage and Water Enhancement. Applications must be submitted by Aug. 31. This will be the last signup for the 2009 year. Applications can be picked up at the Harrison County Extension Office.
