  • HCHS CLASS OF 1994

    The Harrison County High School Class of 1994 invites all classmates to attend their 15 year reunion Saturday, Sept. 26 from 8 p.m. – midnight at Cherry Blossom Golf and Country Club in Georgetown, Ky. Cost is $60 for a couple or $35 for an individual.

    HCHS CLASS OF 1999

  • The Harrison County Ag Development Board is continuing sign-ups for the Hay and Grain Storage and Water Enhancement Programs until the end of August. Anyone that is interested in participating in this program should stop by the Harrison County Extension Office and pick up an application. Rules and regulations pertaining to these programs are continued from previous sign-ups so tobacco dependency is still an important part of the program.

  • Trenton Robert Walker Gaines

    Trenton Robert Walker Gaines was born to Patricia VanHook Gaines and Golby Gaines of Winchester, Ky. on July 29, 2009 at Cental Baptist Hospital. He weighed 7 lbs. 1 oz.

  • Growing up in Cynthiana, Karen Williams Angelucci knew that gardening was her thing. She has taken it to the extreme at times, and has had many successes and failures in the art of gardening. Angelucci created her first book, Secrets of a Kentucky Gardener, to help herself and others get a grip on their landscape; so they could reap the rewards as she does.

    Harrison County Historical Society will meet Thursday, Aug. 20 at 7 p.m. at Wayne Stafford’s log cabin. Stafford will give a tour of the cabin which is located behind his home at 1432 Dutch Chapel Rd. Please bring a lawn chair.  Directions to the cabin are: take KY Hwy 36 W. about 6 miles to Breckinridge and turn right on Dutch Chapel Road. Proceed approximately 1.5 miles to the gravel drive on the right. Everyone is welcome and encouraged to attend.

  • Levi Gibson Carr

     

    Levi Gibson Carr was born to Jason and Tabitha Carr of Cynthiana on July 1, 2009 at Harrison Memorial Hospital. He weighed 7 lbs. 15 oz.

  • Ample rainfall and mild temperatures this year means we can get planting sooner then later. Sure, we plant trees all year round as long as we can get the shovel in the ground but normally planting this time results I a little stress due to high heat and lots of water hauling. Finally an easy year.
