    2010 4-H CAMP

  • The Harrison County Ag Development Board wants to remind all Farmers in Harrison County that the sign-up period for programs in 2010 will end on Monday, April 19 at 4:30 p.m. All applications should be returned to the Harrison County Extension Office.

  • BUENA VISTA

    ALUMNI BANQUET

    The Buena Vista Alumni Banquet will be held at the First United Methodist Church Saturday, May 15, 2010 at 6 p.m. All former students, teachers, alumni and friends are welcome.

    For reservations call Dorothy Slade at 234-5835 by May 11. The meal will be $13 per person.

  • THURSDAY, April 15

    Resume Writing. Thursday, April 15 from 5-6:30 p.m. at the Cynthiana-Harrison County Public Library. This is a free class provided by the Office of Central Kentucky Career Center.

    Harrison County Historical Society will meet Thursday, April 15 at 7 p.m. at the Library Annex. Northside Elementary School's Fifth Grade History Students will present the program. Everyone is welcome and encouraged to attend.

  • CENTRAL CHRISTIAN

    Barry Wethington, Youth Minister of Central Christian Church, went on a mission trip to Haiti in March. On Sunday, April 25 at 4 p.m., Central will be hosting a slide show from the trip.

    Wethington will share his experiences and answer questions people may have. He has a good in-site as to what is being done and what the needs still are.

    Refreshments will be served after the program.

  • *Cynthiana Democrat, July 1960 -- “Denver, Colo. - Joe B. Hall, head basketball coach at Regis College here, has been named athletic director as well. The 31-year old Cynthiana, Ky. native succeeds Fred T. Daly, who has headed Regis’ athletic programs since 1957. His appointment to become effective Aug. 1. ‘We are pleased to have a man of Coach Hall’s caliber ready to assume these duties,’ Regis’ president said, ‘He did an exceptional job with the varsity basketball team as well as in revising our physical education program.’”

  • Girl Scout Troop 168 is working on their Silver Award Project. This project is for the cadet’s level in girl scouts. The troop has put in 50 hours of work and have chose to do activities that would help benefit the local animal shelter.

    The troop has been to several other Girl Scout Troops in Harrison County and made Happy Socks (sock filled with batten rolled in cat nip and tied) for the kittens to play with at the shelter.
