  • In 2010 Quadris has been approved for use in greenhouses and float beds for tobacco production for disease of target spot. If you are seeing a problem it is recommended that you would use 4cc per five gallons of water.  This amount of water should cover 1,000 square foot of float bed. This additional label will go with the present label for field use and will be good only for the 2010 season.

    Harrison County High School principal, Gary Dearborn, to step down at the end of the school year. Dearborn will be retiring with 27 years in education.

    Harrison County High School Singers take first place in competition in Gatlinburg, Tenn.

  • After the rains hit a few weeks ago, enough moisture settled in to trigger the development and “ripening” of some really freaky looking appendages. It is called cedar-apple rust and many gardeners where curious about the large, orange gelatinous spore horns hanging from their cedars like Japanese lanterns. 

    They strike awe and dread from me because they are fabulous looking creations of nature, but they also forewarn a rust problem in the orchard for next year.
