The deadlines to file an application for natural disaster protection under the Noninsured Assistance Program (NAP) are March 2 and 16.

The crops for the March 2 deadline are: Alfalfa, clover, grass and mixed grass intended for grazing, hay or seed.

The Governor’s Office of Agricultural Policy (GOAP) will hold 11 Kentucky Agricultural Development Fund (KADF) Regional Workshops in April and May across the Commonwealth.

The GOAP staff will discuss, in detail, any new policy changes as well as changes concerning KADF programs and how they apply to the administrators, extension agents, and county council members. The Regional Workshops are also designed to be an interactive learning session that will help KADF administrators with reporting requirements.

Mr. and Mrs. Gary G. Murphy of Richmond announce the forthcoming marriage of their daughter, Rebecca Jean Murphy, to Michael Anthony Colligan, son of the late Mr. and Mrs. James Colligan.

The bride-elect is a 2000 graduate of Madison Central High School and a 2004 graduate of Eastern Kentucky University where she received a Bachelor of Science degree in Environmental Health Science. She is employed by the Madison County Health Department as a Senior Health Environmentalist.

An award to be given to outstanding 4-H’ers in Harrison County in memory of Robert Wigginton, Extension Agent in Harrison County from 1942-1964 is in its 21st  year. It is based strictly on 4-H activities.

The award will be made to one outstanding senior 4-H’er and one outstanding junior 4-H’er each year. A 4-H member may only receive this award once as a junior 4-H’er (ages 9-13) and once as a senior 4-H’er (ages 14-19). Age is determined by the 4-H’ers age on Jan. 1 of the award year.
