Bookmobile. The Cynthiana-Harrison County Public Library Bookmobile will be available Friday, Dec. 30 at Our Little Miracles at 11:30 a.m.; Robynwood Heights, 2:30 p.m.
SATURDAY, Dec. 31
Public Library Closing. The Cynthiana-Harrison County Public Library will be closed Dec. 31 and will reopen on Monday, Jan. 2 at 9 a.m.
MONDAY, Jan. 2
Health Department Closings. The Harrison County Health Department will be closed on Jan. 2 and 3 for the New Year holiday.

* Cynthiana Democrat, April 12, 1917 - “Snowy Easter Sunday (April 8) Easter Sunday opened with a cold rain which turned to snow before noon and continued until early evening. That night the ground froze, and on Monday the pavements were slick with a thin coating of ice. All thought of Easter finery went by the board and the few people who ventured out went about in winter garments, shivering and miserable.”
Hope you don’t mind that I take this opportunity to reflect a little.
Another year is gone, I remember my elders marveling over this and how quickly time goes by and I get it now.
I have learned some this year, but I don’t necessarily feel smarter; I have aged some, but don’t necessarily feel older; and I have made new friends that have taught me that there is always potential which has made me excited about the rest of my life.

That was her year of the perfect turkey. Prior to that, her turkeys ranged from dry to just OK.
Then in 2002 she took a risk and brined her turkey, which turned out succulent and delicious. However, in 2003, even though she followed the same recipe, her turkey wasn’t perfect and that ruined her holiday meal.
