  • I have been blessed with a terrible memory.
    It’s a blessing because I don’t remember things that haunt other people with better memories. I can’t remember most of the fights I’ve had with my husband or kids or hurtful things people have said or done.
    However, I also can’t remember people’s names or my passwords and PINs or what I went into the kitchen to do or came to the store to buy.

    The Macedonia Baptist Church will have the Watch service on Friday, Dec. 31 at 11 p.m. Everyone is invited.
    The Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. program will be held at Macedonia Baptist Church on Jan. 17, 2011 at 11 a.m. The march will begin at Ebenezer United Methodist Church on Locust Street at 10 a.m.

  • Dear Santa,
    This is Tomas and Rylee and we just wanted to say that we have been very good this year and we hope to see you this Christmas Eve. Bubby would love to see a little bow and arrow under the tree since he is not big enough for a real one just yet. Sissy would like a pair of hunting boots please. We will leave some cookies under the tree for you.

  • Snow Policy – If Harrison County Schools are closed due to bad weather, County Extension Homemakers meetings scheduled that day are also cancelled.

    Blood Drive – Friday, Jan. 7, 1:30 – 6:30 p.m. at the Harrison County Extension Office.

    Old Eyeglasses – Homemakers are collecting used eyeglasses, cases and parts to be given to the local Lyons Club to refurbish and recycle. They can be dropped off at the Extension Office anytime during the year.

  • Joel Edward Wayne Steele was born to Erica Steele of Cynthiana on June 23, 2010 at Harrison Memorial Hospital. He weighed 8 lbs. 14 oz.

  • THURSDAY, Dec. 23
    Wedco/Harrison County Health Center will be closed for the holidays on Dec. 23 and 24 in observance of Christmas; and on Jan. 30 and 31 in observance of the New Year.
    Public Library. The Cynthiana-Harrison County Public Library will close Dec. 23-26 and reopen at 9 a.m. Monday, Dec. 27 in observance of the Christmas holiday.
