  • FOOKS - FRENCH
    The Fooks - French reunion will be held Saturday, Sept. 24 at the Claysville Christian Church shelter. Meat, plates and eating utensils will be furnished. The meal will begin at noon. Bring a covered dish, lawn chair and old and new photos.

    McCONNELL-BRADLEY
    The annual McConnell-Bradley family reunion and potluck dinner will be held on Sunday, Oct. 2 at the Mt. Olivet Community Center located just off U.S. 62 in Mt. Olivet.
    The community center is located directly behind the Robertson County Health Care Facility.

  • Cameron Fryman, along with his grandparents, James and Tammy Fryman of Cynthiana, announces the forthcoming marriage of his mother, Brandi Autumn Fryman, to Randall Alan McVey, son of Glen and Mary Abney of Paris, Ky.
    Fryman is a 2002 graduate of Harrison County High School and received her photography certificate from the New York Institute of Photography in 2007. She is employed as a receptionist at Dan Cummins Chevrolet in Paris.
    McVey is a 1986 graduate of Woodford County High School. He is employed as the produce manager at Ken’s in Paris.

    Whenever brown patches or dead spots appear in the lawn we are quick to suspect a grub infestation. This is not always the case though, in fact, contemporary lawn care routines may be more to blame than you realize.  
    Some lawn care habits encourage disease and/or make your lawn more desirable to Japanese beetles and masked chafer beetles, both of which deposit the eggs that grow into grubs.
    The most common disease for lawns around here is brown patch (which is sometimes blamed on grubs).

    Central Christian Church is hosting a revival Sept. 25-28 with Bro. Wayne Keith as the evangelist. There will be special music each night. Services begin at 6:45 p.m.

    Ebenezer United Methodist Church will be having their annual Homecoming on Sunday, Sept. 18 at 205 N. Locust St., Cynthiana.
    Services will begin with Sunday School at 10 a.m. and worship service at 11 a.m. Dinner will be served afterwards.
