  • Last weekend marked open gun season in Kentucky and deer hunters hit the woods in their orange safety gear looking for the epitome of procuring local food. 

    I am not a hunter but I certainly respect hunters who lawfully hunt for food.

Long ago she had earned her reputation as a master chef, but in recent years Laura usually disappeared and passed out before her extended family sat down to enjoy the dinner she had prepared.

    A Missions Rally Weekend will be hosted by Antioch Mills Christian Church Nov. 7, 8 and 9.
    Glenn Bourne will be the guest speaker.
    Meals will be served before the Friday and Saturday services, beginning at 6 p.m. There will be special music at 6:45 with the Bourne speaking at 7 p.m.
    On Sunday, he will provide the sermon at the 9 a.m. and 10:30 a.m. services. A meal will also be provided following the second service.
    Everyone is invited.

  • November is National Hospice Month and on Tuesday, Nov. 11, Hospice of the Bluegrass will host a public forum to discuss the nationally acclaimed program, The Conversation Project, which is dedicated to helping people talk about their wishes for end-of-life care long before it is needed.
