    AnnaBelle Charlotte Lutes was born to Mitzi and Kevin Lutes of Georgetown, Ky. on Jan. 13, 2012 at Woman’s Hospital at Saint Joseph East. She weighed 7 lbs. 1 oz.
    Maternal grandparents are Howard and Charlotte Fallis of Salvisa, Ky.; maternal great-grandparents are Sonny and Anna Belle Fallis.
    Paternal grandparents are Mitchel and Phyllis Lutes of Cynthiana, Ky.; paternal great-grandparents are Henry and Edea Lutes and JW and Geraldine Cannon.

  • Florence to celebrate 100th birthday

    The family of Melvin Florence will host a 100th birthday party in his honor on March 4 from 2 to 4 p.m. at Unity Christian Church. Friends and relatives are invited. Cards only please.

  • Indian Creek Homemakers discuss scholarship funds

    The Indian Creek Homemakers’ Club meets monthly on the first Thursday of each month at 10:30 a.m. The meetings are held at the Cynthiana Christian Church and include a discussion of ongoing club activities, an educational lesson of importance to the club, as well as a potluck luncheon that is always enjoyed by all.   Visitors are welcome throughout the year and encouraged to visit.

  • Strawzell-Crowdy exchange vows in October ceremony

    Steve and Rhonda Strawzell announce the marriage of their daughter, Crista Rae-Jean Strawzell, to Richard Thomas Crowdy. The couple was united in marriage on Oct. 1, 2011 at the First United Methodist Church in Cynthiana, Ky. Pastoral officiates were Chuck Cooper, Jimmy Owens, Dave Thurman, and Steve White.
    Strawzell’s maid of honor was her sister, Kelsi Strawzell.  Cousins and best friends of the bride who served as bridesmaids were Lauren Anderson, Emily Duszynski, Kara Mattox, Caryn Ray, and Megan Shaftner.

  • Womans Club holds February meeting

    The Womans Club held their February meeting at the Cynthiana Christian Church. Bonnie Teater, president, presided at the meeting. Vivian Smith gave the blessing and Spiritual Values.
    Anna Ruth McLoney presented Beverly Pierce and Anastasia Raines who provided the music.
    Lottie Barlow introduced Marvin Sullivan who presented the program ‘Story Teller.’ He also played his harmonica.
    At the business meeting, two guests, Zetta Donavan and Betty Ann Selin, were introduced.

  • Noble-Whirls plan April wedding

    Mr. and Mrs. George M. (Resa) Noble announce the engagement and forthcoming marriage of their daughter, Lydia Le-Nelle Noble, to Andrew James Whirls, son of Mary Repko Whirls of Cynthiana and the late James F. (Froggie) Whirls Jr.
    Noble is a 2010 graduate of Harrison County High School and is employed by Kohls of Georgetown. She is the granddaughter of Larry K. and the late Joyce Fuller and Daniel L. and the late Goldie Noble, all of Cynthiana.

  • Chapman-Milner to marry March 3

    Jessica Chapman of Cynthiana, Ky., daughter of Keith and Melissa Chapman, and Kristopher Milner of Milford, Ky., son of Kevin Milner and Wendell and Kim McNabb, announce their forthcoming marriage.
    The couple will wed on March 3, 2012 at 5:30 p.m. at Marriott Griffin Gate officiated by Wade McNabb, minister. Formal invitations have been sent.
    Chapman is a 2007 graduate of Harrison County High School, and a 2011 graduate of the University of Kentucky. She is employed by the Scott County Farm Bureau Insurance Company.
