    Breds wrestlers destroy competition at Thorobred Classic on the Hilltop with a 73-6 forfeit against the Western Hills Wolverines, defeated East Carter 54-20, Pike County Central called and the Breds answered with a 51-24 defeat, and took the title.

    Jacob Tyrone’ Dixon Jr. was born to Jacob and Carolina Dixon of Cynthiana on Jan. 11, 2012 at Harrison Memorial Hospital. He weighed 6 lbs. 2 oz., and is welcomed by his brothers, Nickalye Honeycutt and Dakota Strong, and sisters, Chole Hensley and Isabella Strong.
    Maternal grandparents are Joyce Honeycutt of Louisville, Ky. and Allen Honeycutt Sr. of Cynthiana; maternal great-grandmother is Mary Northcutt.

  • New Millennium Homemakers’ 2011 report

    The New Millennium Homemakers had a good year in 2011. The club has 21 members.
    Members helped with most of the activities needing club involvement including: The Harrison County Fair; sent a package to serviceman Christian Cain for Christmas; hosted the annual Christmas party for Shady Lawn residents, furnishing them with pastry, juice, fruit and gift bags, and also sang Christmas carols.

  • Florences celebrate 72nd anniversary

    Melvin and Mary Frances (Fritz) Florence celebrated their 72nd wedding anniversary on Jan. 3, 2012 at Grand Haven Nursing Home with family and friends.
    They were married in Ravenna, Ky. on Jan. 3, 1940 by Bro. C. R. Hickman. Their attendants were Harry and Thelma Million.
    The Florences have two daughters, Judy Johnting of Ossining, N.Y. and Carolyn (Donald) Palmer of Cynthiana; five grandchildren, nine great-grandchildren and two great-great-grandchildren.

    Isaiah Nathanel Roberts was born to Craig Roberts and Starr Owens of Cynthiana on Jan. 13, 2012 at Harrison Memorial Hospital. He weighed 6 lbs. 5 oz., and is welcomed by his brother, Christian Owens and sister, Angel Owens.
    Maternal grandparents are Rebecca Gaunce of Cynthiana and Shelton Roberts of Richmond, Ky.
    Paternal grandparents are Christy Roe and Joe Roe of Richmond.

    Curry Homemaker Club members have been learning about security this year; the security of one’s person as well as one’s personal information. Technology provides us with so many avenues to conduct business and purchase goods and services, but it also provides criminals access to our financial information. These lessons gave us good tips and tools for protecting ourselves.

  • Turner-Caudill exchange vows in camouflage attair

    Randy and Tina Northcutt announce the marriage of their daughter, Amy Turner, to Billy Caudill, son of Sammy and Susie Caudill.
    Both Turner and Caudill work at their family’s Recycling business, Turner at Randy’s Odd Jobs and Recycling in Cynthiana and Caudill at Caudill Recycling in Morehead. The wedding was held at Randy’s Odd Jobs and Recycling in Cynthiana on Dec. 17, 2011.

  • Millers renew vows in Gatlinburg July 30

    Kevin and Donna Wilson Miller celebrated their 15th anniversary in Gatlinburg with a vow renewal ceremony held July 30. The Rev. Rob Bremer officiated the ceremony in the presence of their children and close family.
    The couple was married on Aug. 3, 1996 by the Rev. Howard Livingood. They reside in Cynthiana with their two children, Jami and Jaden.
    Kevin is employed at CMWA in Die Assurance.
    Donna is employed as a Registered Nurse at the Elizabeth Bailey Women’s Health Center at Harrison Memorial Hospital.
