    Paternal grandparents are John Brown, Allen Honeycutt and Eddie Vanhook, all of Cynthiana; paternal great-grandparents are Cecil Wright, Marie Workman, Donal Lee Vanhook and Roy Crosthwaite.

  • Homemakers to host Tea Time at Grand Haven, Edgemont

    The Harrison County Extension Homemakers will sponsor a Tea Time for residents, family members and friends at Edgemont Nursing Home on Thursday, April 26 at 10 a.m., and at Grand Haven at 2 p.m. The event is to honor your years of dedication to your home and family.

  • Harrison County Community Health Fair will be April 12

    The Harrison County Community Health Fair is coming up next week. Mark your calendars now for Thursday, April 12 at the Harrison County Middle School. The Health Fair begins at 7 a.m., but if you come later in the morning the lines will be a lot shorter, especially for the blood tests. If you take medication take them with a small amount of water, don’t skip taking them. The blood test is a fasting blood test, so do not eat or drink anything, except your medicine, after midnight. It is over at 11 a.m.

    Births announced this week are: Clayton Chase Arnold, March 26, son of Rick and Jackie Arnold; Rebecca Mae Berryman, March 19, daughter of Terrie Berryman; Faith Ann Harney, March 25, daughter of Dale and Libby Harney; Austyn Lane Williams, March 24, son of Donald and Crystal Williams.
    A new stockyard will be located in Harrison County on Poindexter Pike. Goat Haven Ranch, Inc. and Walking Stick Enterprises was originally looking to be located in Dry Ridge, Ky. The facility will be comprised mainly of goats and sheep.

  • Senior Farmers’ Market Nutrition Program offered

    The members of the Harrison County Farmers Market invites senior citizens to come and shop with their local farmers. There is a program developed through the Department of Agriculture called Senior Farmers’ Market Nutrition Program that all persons aged 60 years and older can apply for.
