    Fall is the time to think about all those flowers we associate with spring: daffodils, crocus, and other easy-to-grow flowering bulbs. If you aren’t growing any spring-flowering bulbs in your landscape, you are missing out on some easy-to-grow plants that provide early color to your garden.

  • ‘Decorating for the Holidays’ workshop to be offered by the Extension Homemakers

    The Harrison County Extension Homemakers are making plans for the holidays. This year ‘Decorating for the Holidays’ is going to be before Halloween. The date is Monday, Oct. 16 at 7 p.m. at the Harrison County Extension Office and is free to the public.
    Hal Williams of Hal’s Flowers will be making floral arrangements. Jessica Sayre, horticulturist, will be showing us how to make decorations using plant materials from the outdoors. Harlene Welch will be instructing on how to make a Christmas spider and will share the legend about the spider.

  • Hiday hosts October meeting of the United Methodist Women

    The United Methodist Women of the First United Methodist Church met on Tuesday, Oct. 3 at the home of Jan Hiday. Refreshments were served by the hostess to convene the meeting. Marilyn Wash said the blessing.

    HCHS CLASS OF 1964
    The Harrison County High School Class of 1964 will be having their annual get-together on Saturday, Oct. 21 at 6 p.m. at Biancke’s. This annual event is an informal time to catch up on activities of class members. The meal will be soups (chili and potato), salad, sandwiches, tea and dessert and will cost each person $10.
