    Evaline Elise Spivey was born to Susan and Adam Spivey of Lexington, Ky. on May 25, 2012 at Central Baptist Hospital in Lexington. she weighed 8 lbs., and is welcomed by her sister, Lilly.
    Maternal grandparents are Joe and Millie Hudgins of Cynthiana; maternal great-grandparents are the late Margaret Hudgins and Curtis Paul Hudgins.
    Paternal grandparents are Mark and Ellen Spivey of Lexington; paternal great-grandparents are are Betty Hicks of Cadiz, Ky., and Bernard and pat Spivey of Patterison, La.

  • Cooper Allen Justice

    Cooper Allen Justice was born to Mindy Miller and Steven Justice of Cynthiana on June 29, 2012 at Central Baptist Hospital.
    He weighed 6 lbs. 5 oz., and is welcomed by his sister, Jayca Kiersten Justice.
    Maternal grandparents are Carol Miller and Troy Miller of Cynthiana.
    Paternal grandparents are Teresa and Montie Justice of Shelbiana.

  • Wilder-Anton wed in garden ceremony

    Mike and Laura Wachter of Cynthiana, Ky., and George Wm. Wilder II of Lexington, Ky., announce the marriage of their daughter Whitney Lebus Wilder to Joshua Jacob Anton. Anton is the son of Gregg and Lisa Anton and Steve and Kim Powell of Mansfield, Ohio.
    The garden wedding was held at 5 p.m. at the Bodley Bullock House in Lexington, Ky. on May 26, 2012. A dinner and dance reception followed at the Spring Valley Golf Club.
    Bridal attendants were Anna Rush, maid of honor, Cassie Maribeto, Ann Sydney Taylor, Amanda Boers and Lindsey Beaudry.

  • Extension Homemakers plan winter trip

    Harrison County Extension Homemakers are planning a winter day trip to Wheeling, W.Va. in December to the Festival of Lights.
    We will leave on Tuesday, Dec. 4 from the Extension Office at 7 a.m. and arrive at Wheeling around 3 p.m. We will have dinner (included) at the historic Wilson Lodge. We will then visit the Winter Fantasy Laser Light Show and Train display from 6:30- 7:30 p.m. and end with a guided tour of the Festival of Lights from 7:30-9:30 p.m.

    ANDERSON
    The Anderson reunion will be held Sunday, Aug. 5 at Antioch Mills Christian Church with a potluck meal at 1 p.m. Drink and table service provided.

    COPES
    The 41st annual Copes family reunion will be held on Sunday, Aug. 5 at the Raphael Patrick fellowship hall at Curry United Methodist Church. A potluck lunch will be served at 1 p.m. All family and friends are invited to attend.

  • Ammerman-Ross exchange vows on A. Keller Farm

    Sarah Clay Ammerman and Dustin Ross of Cynthiana, Ky., were united in marriage on March 31, 2012, at half past five o’clock in the evening at A. Keller Farm. The Rev. Wayne Tolson officiated.
    The bride is the daughter of Mike and Debbie Ammerman of Cynthiana. The bridegroom is the son of Bridgette Oliver of Burlington, N.C. and the grandson of Brenda Hunt from Cynthiana.
    The bride is an office manager for Farmer’s Tobacco Company.  He is a lab scientist from Combined Physicians Lab in Cynthiana.
    The couple will reside in Georgetown, Ky.

  • Judys to be honored on 50th anniversary

    Joe Lee Judy and Judy True Judy will celebrate their 50th wedding anniversary on Sunday, Aug. 5, 2012. The reception will take place in the fellowship hall at the Cynthiana Baptist Church from 2:30-4:30 p.m. All friends and family are invited to attend.
    The Judys were married on Aug. 5, 1962 at the First Baptist Church in Paris, Ky.
    They request no gifts please.

  • Museum Musings

    * It seems incredible that 18 years ago this July a small group of dedicated volunteers (several of whom are still diligently working for the museum) opened the Cynthiana-Harrison County Museum for this special community. There were only a few things on display at that July, 1994 opening compared to the current collection of 2,000+ items.
