  • Oddville Alumni Dinner

    ODDVILLE ALUMNI DINNER
    The annual Oddville Alumni dinner will be held May 26 at the Cynthiana Christian Church fellowship hall. Gathering will commence at 4:30 p.m. and dinner will be served at 6 p.m. Anyone who attended Oddville School is invited to attend and guests are also welcome. A hot catered buffet dinner is $18 per person served by Layne Tussey of  The Vault Catering.  Reservations are required by May 20.  

  • Neace-Wade to marry in Hawaii

    Jessika Neace and Wesley Wade, both of Cynthiana, announce their engagement and forthcoming marriage.
    Neace is the daughter of Elizabeth and Dan Zimmerman of Somerset, Ky. and Bobby and Dorothy Neace of Cynthiana. She is a 2007 graduate of Harrison County High School.
    Wade is the son of Gerald and Bonie Wade of Cynthiana. He is a 2003 graduate of Harrison County High School.
    The wedding will take place May 30, 2012 in Oahu, Hawaii.

    Together with their families, Virginia Katherine Faulkner and Jakob Clifford Slucher request your company as they are united in marriage on Saturday, June 30, 2012 at 5:30 p.m. at the Elks Lodge in Cynthiana. All friends and family are invited.
    Faulkner is the daughter of Tressie Faulkner of Cynthiana and Jerry Faulkner of Berry, and the granddaughter of Martha Brown and the late Donald Brown and Adrian and Georgia Faulkner.

  • LVBPW hosts annual Equal Pay Day event

    The annual Equal Pay Day event is held each year as a reminder that it takes an extra three and one-half months for women to make the same as our male counterparts do in 12 months. Women make 77 cents to every one dollar men make.

  • Women’s Health Issues seminar planned

    This year marks the 17th annual Women’s Health Issues seminar, which will be held Monday, April 30.  
    Each year the objective of the program is to try to educate women on a variety of health topics and preventative measures.
    Programs vary each year to meet the specific needs of the women of Harrison County.  The planning committee uses the previous year’s evaluations and suggestions of the committee members in making choices of speakers and topics.

  • Current-Rowell plan May wedding

    C.J. and Mary Current of Cynthiana announce the engagement of their daughter, Charity F. Current, to George M. Rowell Jr., son of George M. Sr. and Kay Rowell of Okeechobee, Fla., and are now residing in Cynthiana.
    The wedding will take place Saturday, May 19, 2012 at Oakwood Baptist Church in Cynthiana at 3:30 p.m. A reception to follow the ceremony.
    Family and friends are invited, limited invitations have been sent.

  • Tea Time planned at Grand Haven, Edgemont

    The Harrison County Extension Homemakers will sponsor a Tea Time for residents, family members and friends at Edgemont Nursing Home on Thursday, April 26 at 10 a.m., and at Grand Haven at 2 p.m. The event is to honor your years of dedication to your home and family.

  • Oddville Homemakers Club to end year in May

    Oddville Homemakers have had an exciting past year which will end in May and begin again in September. New members are welcome. Some of the lessons have been on Social Networking, Self Defense, Consumer Beware, Couponing, Healthy Meals on a Budget, Growing and Cooking with Herbs and emailing photos.
    The group is also involved in special interest activities which include: Homemaker Day at the courthouse, food booths and exhibits, cultural arts contest, Little Feet Big Feet, blood drives, nursing home tea parties, Community Health Fair, Cancer Coalition and many more.
