    John and Emma Phillips  celebrate their 65th wedding anniversary May 23, 2012. The couple, from Lees Lick have lived in Cynthiana their whole lives.

  • Northcutt-Philpot announce May 26 wedding

    Emily Beth Northcutt of Cynthiana, Ky. and Kyle Warren Philpot of Berry, Ky., announce their engagement and forthcoming marriage.
    Northcutt is the daughter of Benjamin and Mattie Northcutt of Cynthiana, and is a 2012 graduate of Morehead State University with a Bachelors in Elementary Education.
    Philpot is the son of Kenneth and Linda Philpot of Berry, and is a 2010 graduate of the University of Northwestern Ohio with an Associate of Applied Sciences in Automotive and Diesel Technology. He is employed at Mechanic Masters in Paris, Ky.

  • Whitaker-Lanway to marry May 26

    Mr. and Mrs. Michael Lanway of Bardstown, Ky., announce the upcoming marriage of their daughter, Katherine, to Matthew Glen Whitaker, son of Glen and Vicki Whitaker, Port Charlotte, Fla., formerly of Cynthiana, Ky.
    Lanway is a graduate of the University of Kentucky, College of Dentistry. She lives and works in Lexington.
    Whitaker, a Murray State University graduate, also lives and works in Lexington.
    The wedding will take place at My Old Kentucky Home in Bardstown on May 26, 2012. Invitations have been sent.

    The Northcutt family reunion will be held Sunday, June 3 at the Curry fellowship building on Upper Curry Road beginning at 12:30 p.m. Everyone welcome and should bring a dish to share.

    The Dailey family reunion will be at 11 a.m. June 10 at the Harrison County High School Cafeteria. Bring favorite foods and drinks. Plates, nakins, utensils, cups and ice will be provided. For any questions or directions call Harlene Welch at 234-3402.

  • Forsythe-Warmouth to marry June 16

    Sarah Forsythe and Richard Warmouth, both of Berry, Ky., announce their engagement and forthcoming marriage. The ceremony will take place on Saturday, June 16, 2012 at Berry United Methodist Church at 3 p.m.
    Forsythe is the daughter of Marshall and Mary Nichols of Berry and the late Harold Forsythe. She is a 2005 graduate of Harrison County High School.
    Warmouth is the son of Juanna Hutchison of Demossville, Ky. and Walter Dean Warmouth of Carlisle, Ky. He is a 2012 graduate of Harrison County Adult Education Center.

    Roger and Debbie Lemons announce the engagement and forthcoming marriage of their daughter, LeAnn Frances, to Jeffrey Lee Ammerman, father of Lauren Elyse and son of Bill and Linda Ammerman.
    Lemons is the granddaughter of Robert “Lightnin” and Nellie Rorer and the late Jack J. Sowder, and Robert and Rhoda Lemons.
    Ammerman is the grandson of the late S.C. and Alice Ammerman and Irvin and Edna Harney.

    Camryn Conner Florence
    Camryn Conner Florence was born to Seth and Lindsey Florence of Cynthiana on May 4, 2012 at the University of Kentucky Hospital.
    She weighed 5 lbs. 11 oz., and is welcomed by her sister, Taylor Katherine Florence.
    Maternal grandparents are Wayne and Kay Conner of Cynthiana; maternal great-grandparents are Julian and Peggy Gray, and Bill Conner, all of Cynthiana, and the late Edna Conner.
    Paternal grandparents are Deeann Ruppert of Cynthiana and Rick Florence.

  • Cynthiana DAR honors Bradley for years of membership

    The Cynthiana Chapter of the DAR met at the Cynthiana-Harrison County Public Library community room on May 12.
    Melinda Rawlings, Regent, called the meeting to order and welcomed guests and new members, Marilyn Elfers, Carol Carroll, and Gail Kesterson, who was unable to attend.
    Lisa Ramsey was introduced and she gave a very informative presentation on Hospice of Bluegrass.
    The DAR Ritual, Pledge of Allegiance and the American’s Creed were recited, followed by singing of the Star Spangled Banner.
