    Dorothy Rayeandi Purcell was born to Linda Robinson Purcell and Justin Purcell of Cynthiana on May 2, 2014 at Harrison Memorial Hospital.
    She weighed 7 lbs. 10 oz.
    Maternal grandparents are Cindy and Lee Robinson of Cynthiana; maternal great-grandparents are Kathy and Arvil Barns and Leon Robinson; maternal great-great-grandparents are Thanie Alexander, Linda and Robert Newman and Russel West.

  • Bradford-Northcutt plan May wedding

    Emily Bradford, along with Zach and Blake Northcutt, announce the forthcoming marriage of their parents Amber LeAnn Bradford and Jeffery Allen Northcutt.
    Bradford is the daughter of Jeff Grissom of Paris, Ky. and the late Vickie Lynch.
    Northcutt is the son of Charles and Sue Northcutt of Cynthiana, Ky.
    The wedding will take place outdoors at the couple’s residence in Berry, Ky. on May 17, 2014 at 3 p.m. The reception will follow immediately after the wedding.

  • Grayson to observe 100th birthday

    Lucy Kern Grayson will be 100 years old on Wednesday, May 28, 2014.
    In honor of the occasion, her children, Johnny, Janice and Billy invites all her family and friends to stop by The Vault Restaurant, 201 S. Main St., on Sunday, May 25 between 3-5 p.m. to help her celebrate.

    Pete (Lawrence) and Janet Cline will celebrate their 25th wedding anniversary on May 19.
    They have nine children (Pete’s step children), 17 grandchildren and 18 great-grandchildren.

  • Coles cross golden milestone May 2, celebrate with trip

    Ruth Ann and Alson Cole Jr. celebrated their 50th wedding anniversary on May 2. They enjoyed a trip to the “Honeymoon Capital of the World,” Niagara Falls, N.Y. The trip also included tours of Gettysburg and Philadelphia, Pa.; Princeton and Ocean Grove, N.J.; and New York City and Buffalo, N.Y.
    The couple was married by Sam Sowder at Robinson Christian Church. Jane Ann (Cason) Burgess was the maid of honor, and Virgil Cole was the best man.

  • Morrises renew vows on 50th anniversary

    The children of Cleveland “Jeep” and Barbara (Wilson) Morris announce the renewal of their parents wedding vows after 50 years of devotion, dedication and commitment. The renewal ceremony was held where they first met 50 years ago, on the basketball court at Cynthiana City Hall.
    Presenting their mother Barbara for marriage were their three sons, Tom, Chris and Craig Morris. Bridesmaids were their two daughters, Tracy Morris-Brinkmeyer and Tina (Morris) Swinford.

  • Beta Sigma Phi Honors Night/ Founders Day celebration held

    The annual Honors Night/Founders Day celebration of Beta Sigma Phi met Monday, April 28 at the Christian Church. Omega chapter was in charge of the dinner and awards presentation. Bonnie Teater, president, read the 85th Founders Day message from International, which was sent by Laura Ross, daughter of founder Walter Ross.
    The new theme for the coming year is “Expand Your Family Tree.”
    With the idea that sorority is the family tree, members are encouraged to expand and find new members. Commitment to growth was recommended for all chapters.
