• Bills-Hubbard to exchange vows

    Christian Bills, and Devin, Trinity, and Gavyn Hubbard announce the engagement and forthcoming marriage of their parents, Melody Dawn Bills to Joshua J. Hubbard.
    Bills is the daughter of Homer and Doris Bills, and the granddaughter of Earl Bills and the late Staddie Bills and the late Christine Crump. She is a 1992 graduate of Harrison County High School, a 1996 graduate of Maysville Community College, and a 2009 graduate of Midway College. She is employed by the Cynthiana-Harrison County Public Library and the Harrison County Board of Education.

  • Morrises to observe 50th anniversary

    Cleveland Edward (Jeep) Morris and Barbara Ann (Wilson) Morris will celebrate their 50th wedding anniversary on Oct. 5. They were married on Oct. 5, 1963 at the home of the bride’s parents.
    They have five children, 10 grandchildren and three great-grandchildren.

  • Reunions

    The descendents of James John and Will Courtney will hold their annual reunion on Saturday, Oct. 5 at the Pleasant Green Church fellowship hall. Will again have a white elephant sale. All you need to bring is a gift, family, friends and food. The potluck meal will begin at noon.

  • Reception planned for Chamberlins

    The family of David Chamberlin would like to thank the community for prayers for their son David during his last year and deployment while in the U.S. Army.
    A reception will be held at Faith Baptist Church in Cynthiana on Sunday, Oct. 6, 2-4 p.m.
    David and Delilah Chamberlin were married Sept.  21 in Linden, N.C.
    The couple will be making their home in Cynthiana.

  • Greenlees celebrate 50th anniversary

    Norman and Sharon Greenlee celebrated their 50th wedding anniversary with a trip to Alaska. They were married on Aug. 18 in Maysville, Ky.
    They have two children, Col. N, Thomas Greenlee, Pearl Harbor, Hawaii and Dawn E. Harvey, Cynthiana; seven grandchildren and three great-grandchildren.

    Births announced this week are: Destiny Makayla Yarnell, Sept. 9, daughter of Jesse and Julie Yarnell.

  • Brochure distribution kicks off county history book project

    More than 5,000 informative brochures were distributed this week in Harrison County Historical Societys opening gambit to publish a comprehensive history of county families, the first such production in over 50 years. The brochures were distributed in the Sept. 26 issue of The Cynthiana Democrat and at several businesses county-wide.
