  • Medlins to celebrate 60th anniversary

    Steve and Patsy Medlin will celebrate their 60th wedding anniversary with their family at a reception at their home on Saturday, Feb. 16.
    They were married Feb. 15, 1953 at Riverview Baptist Church. Bro. J. D.  Duncan, pastor of the church, performed the traditional ceremony of exchanging vows.

    Banyan Taggart Batson was born to H.D. and Cindi Batson on Sept. 29, 2012.
    He weighed 8 lbs. 15 oz., and is welcomed by his sister, Brynlee Raine Batson.
    Paternal grandparents are Donnie and Kay Batson of Cynthiana.
    Maternal grandparents are Ben and Terry Sloat of Harrison County.

    10 years ago . . .
    Births announced this week are: Dillon Lee Delano Hunter, Feb. 4, son of Tiffany and Robert Hunter; Matthew Conner Kilpela, Dec. 26, son of Matthew and Jeannie Kilpela.
    A Lexington pilot is still missing. The 66 year old pilot left the Georgetown airport on Jan. 9 headed for Kansas City, Mo. His plane was last detected on radar headed toward Cynthiana. the Civil Air Patrol has conducted a four-state search for plane wreckage along his assumed path but has not found anything. The block box in the plane has never signaled trouble.
