  • Duszynski-Khouphongsy exchange vows

    Joyce and Dave Duszynski of Cynthiana, Ky., announce the marriage of their daughter, Emily Ann Duszynski to Phouvadol Peter Khouphongsy, son of Thaweesuk and Phouvang Khouphongsy of Waukesha, Wis. The wedding was held on June 2, 2012 at Indian Creek Christian Church.
    Brad Hammond, cousin of the bride, officiated the ceremony.  Music was provided by Terri Lorenz, pianist, and vocals by Crista Crowdy, Kelsi Strawzell, and Rachel Lorenz.  Greeters for the ceremony were Casey Hammond and Riley Hammond. Ushers  were Will Thomas Collins and Jon Keith Collins.

    Births announced this week are: Rachel Sterling Clifford, Oct. 22, daughter of Dustin and Scott Clifford.
    Virgie Wells will remain mayor of Cynthiana for another four years. She won the race by 51 votes against former mayor Jim Brown.

    Liliauna Bronx Stroub was born to Mandi (Levi) Stroub and Josh Stroub of Lexington on Oct. 19, 2012 at St. Joseph Women’s Hospital in Lexington.
    She weighed 5 lbs. 14 oz., and is welcomed by her brother, Hunter.
    Maternal grandparents are Tom and Sissie Levi of Cynthiana.
    Paternal grandparents are Steve and Kathy Stroub of Cynthiana.

  • Tristin Blake O’Brien

    Tristin Blake O’Brien was born to Shannon and Marion O’Brien of Cynthiana on Sept. 12, 2012 at Harrison Memorial Hospital.
    He weighed 7 lbs. 7 oz., and is welcomed by his sister, Courtney O’Brien.
    Maternal grandparents are Joy Kelly of Cynthiana and the late Tim Oliver of Paris; maternal great-grandparents are the late David “Slick” and Doris Kelly of Cynthiana, Doris Jean Oliver of Paris and the late Charles Oliver.

    CLASS OF 1987
    The Harrison County High School Class of 1987 will hold its 25th reunion on Saturday, Nov. 3 at the Roh’s Opera House, 133 E. Pike St., Cynthiana, from 8 p.m. to midnight.
    Remember when everyone met up at the movies on Tuesdays and Thursdays? Come reminisce. It’s now owned by our own ‘87 classmates Phillip Nickerson, Roger Slade and James Smith. We will mix and mingle and enjoy hor d’oeuvres. Cash bar will also be available.
