  • Marshes celebrate 60th anniversary

    On Jan. 1, 1953, Ruby Joyce Scott and Jack Rorer Marsh were married in Harrison County, Ky.
    Ruby, daughter of the late Stanley and Minnie Scott of the Shady Nook community, and Jack, son of the late Harry and Laura Marsh of Mudlick Road in Harrison County, have five children, Steve (Suzanne Neu) Marsh, Julie (Jim) Edwards, Scott (Rhonda Bryant) Marsh, Daniel (Tammie) Marsh and Karen (Steve) Spahn, seven grandchildren and one great-grandchild.

  • Jett-Works exchange vows

    Mr. and Mrs. Tom Jett of Cynthiana announce the marriage of their daughter, Jessi Ewing Jett, to Jason Ryan Works, son of Kellar Works of Myrtle Beach, S.C., formerly of Cynthiana, and the late Ruth Works. The wedding was held Oct. 20, 2012 at the Cynthiana Baptist Church. The Rev. Tony Shouse, former pastor, officiated the ceremony. The reception was held at the Prizing House.
    Jett is a graduate of Harrison County High School and a 2012 Nursing graduate of Midway College. She is employed at Harrison Memorial Hospital.

  • Techau-Duszynski exchange vows

    Mr. and Mrs. Neal Techau of Cynthiana announce the marriage of their daughter, Kensi Elizabeth, to Evan James Duszynski, son of Mr. and Mrs. David Duszynski, also of Cynthiana. The wedding was held on June 30, 2012 at the First Church of God in Lexington, Ky. Pastor Tim Gould of Houston, Texas, friend and former pastor of the bride, officiated the ceremony.

  • McCauleys celebrate 72nd anniversary

    Jack and Nora McCauley celebrated their 72nd wedding anniversary on Saturday, Dec. 8. They were married by Bro. Lenox in Falmouth, Ky., in 1940.
    There was a celebration given at their home on Sunday, Dec. 9 by their son David (Peggy) along with their children, grandchildren, great-grandchildren, great-great-grandchildren, nieces and nephews.

  • Slades to be honored with anniversary reception Dec. 22

    Harold and Dorothy Slade will be celebrating their 60th wedding anniversary on Dec. 18. They were married at the First Methodist Church in Cynthiana by the Rev. Marvin McClure on Dec. 18, 1952.
    Their children, Kay Cox, Betty Pariso, Terry Slade, Ann Slade and their families, will honor them with a reception at the Cynthiana-Harrison County Museum on Saturday, Dec. 22 from 2-4 p.m. The museum is located at 124 S. Walnut St. Friends and family are invited to attend. The couple requests no gifts.

    Cynthia Lou Case was born to Mary Lloyd and Tom Case on Oct. 2, 2012 at T J Samson Community Hospital, Glasgow, Ky.
    She weighed 7 lbs. 11 oz., and is welcomed by her sisters and brothers, Chris and Anna Lloyd and Mason and Madison Case.
    Maternal grandparents are Trilby and Sonny Vance and Jimmy Tupman of Columbia, Ky.
    Paternal grandparents are Mary Lou LaCore of Cynthiana and the late Larry D. Case.
