  • HMH Auxiliary donates funds to purchase equipment

    The Harrison Memorial Hospital (HMH) Auxiliary completed 2012 with raising more than $26,000 for Harrison Memorial Hospital. The HMH Auxiliary Gift Shop made a profit of more than $16,541 and fundraising events sponsored by the HMH Auxiliary raised $10,300. All proceeds go directly to Harrison Memorial Hospital for the patients in the community.

  • Grannis-McNutt to marry April 27 at Cincinnati Zoo

    Kelsey Ann Grannis, daughter of Scott and Michelle Grannis of Cynthiana, and Patrick Walker McNutt, son of Bill and Mary Beth McNutt of Cynthiana, announce their engagement and forthcoming marriage.
    The private ceremony will take place on April 27, 2013 at 5 p.m. at the Cincinnati Zoo and Botanical Gardens. A reception will follow at the Cynthiana Country Club.

  • Spence-Campbell plan May wedding

    Lori Spence of Cynthiana announces the engagement of her daughter, Ashley Dawn Spence, to David Corey Campbell, son of Brian and Jennifer Campbell of Cynthiana.
    Spence is a 2012 graduate of Maysville Community College and is employed with Toddler Village Day Care.
    Campbell is a 2008 graduate of Harrison County High School and is employed with Securitas.
    The wedding is planned for May 25, 2013. Formal invitations will be sent.

  • Women’s Club holds February meeting

    The Women’s Club of Harrison County held their Feb. 8 meeting at the Cynthiana Christian Church.
    After the pledge of allegiance the lunch blessing was given by Tim Teater.
    Guest were Tim Teater, Kathy Petty and Eleanor Hawarth.
    Spiritual values was given by Willie Sims who introduced Tim Teater.
    Music was provided by Beverly Pierce. Pierce and club members joined in the singing.
    Virgie Wells introduced Sue McKee. McKee gave a book review on “The Secrets of Mary Bowser” by Lois Leveene.

    Births announced this week are: Preston Jacob Sharp, Jan. 22, son of Jennifer and Keith Sharp; Gracie Irene Wyatt, Feb. 12, daughter of Chris and Kim Wyatt.
    An 8 p.m. to 6 a.m. curfew will continue in Cynthiana and Harrison County until further notice. The curfew was established to help city and county crews, and emergency responders without traffic snares due to the ice storm.
    Water towers drained due to electricity loss from the recent ice storm. Three of the pump stations are without electric.

    Irvin and Lynne King of Cynthiana announce the engagement of their daughter, Samantha King, to Jimmy Hunt, son of James and Charlette Hunt of Cynthiana.
    The ceremony will be held on April 20, 2013 in Seviereville, Tenn.
