    Search continues for a missing Lexington pilot whose plane was last seen on radar headed toward Cynthiana three weeks ago. The pilot left the Georgetown Airport enroute to Kansas City, Mo.

  • Allison receives most votes for the Cynthiana Idol title

    Each May for the last five years, hopeful singers in Cynthiana have been competing for the title of Cynthiana Idol.  
    Each year, one singer comes out on top of the grueling five-round competition that is part judges’ scores and part audience vote.  
    The five winners have very unique styles and each have an incredibly supportive fanbase.  
    So on Jan. 19, when all five previous winners brought their best to the stage of the Rohs Opera House for a one-night showdown, downtown Cynthiana was alive with energy and excitement.  

  • Love Letters to star Hendricks

    In what is becoming an annual tradition in downtown Cynthiana, A.R. Gurney’s touching drama, Love Letters, will once again be performed at the Rohs Opera House.  
    On Feb. 8, local couple Jody and Carolyn Hendricks will take the roles of Melissa Gardner and Andrew Ladd in this Pulitzer Prize nominated play.  
    Love Letters centers on just two characters, Melissa Gardner and Andrew Makepeace Ladd III.

    In a time when we all seek advice from experts, it is not only important to know what plants you have, but also to understand the nomenclature of symptoms caused by insect and disease problems.  
    “I’ve got this thing on my wacha-ma-call-it” won’t get you very far with a Google search or in person.  
    We need to know how to describe the “things” that we find on our plant material so a proper diagnosis and treatment can follow.
    There are several different scenarios that can threaten our garden landscape.

    • Gourd Patch Club – Jan. 15 at 10 a.m. at the Extension Office.

  • Lancaster-Feeback exchange vows

    Lindsey Morgan Lancaster and Rees Edward Feeback were united in marriage on Saturday, Sept. 22, 2012, at Cynthiana Christian Church with the Dr. Don Graham officiating the ceremony.   Following the ceremony a reception was held at the Prizing House.
    Parents of the bride are Steve and Teresa Lancaster of Cynthiana. Parents of the groom are Eddie and Lisa Feeback of Cynthiana.
    The bride is a 2007 graduate of Harrison County High School and a 2011 graduate of Eastern Kentucky University with a degree in nursing.
