    Isabella Rosalie Alyssa Wills was born to Ashley and Michael Wills of Cynthiana on April 29, 2013 at Harrison Memorial Hospital.
    She weighed 7 lbs. 15 oz., and is welcomed by her brothers, Drew Wills and Anton Wills, and sisters, Tracy Wills and Emma Wills.
    Maternal grandparents are Mary and Jesse Smith of Carlisle, Ky. and Harold and Kay Coy of Cynthiana; maternal great-grandparents are Virginia Coy and the late Harold Coy Sr. and the late Orvil Sexton and Martha Morgan.

    Hadley Ann Withrow was born to Jessica Yarnell and Tyler Withrow of Cynthiana on June 20, 2013 at Harrison Memorial Hospital.
    She weighed 6 lbs. 9 oz.
    Maternal grandparents are Jesse and Julie Yarnell of Cynthiana.
    Paternal grandparents are Sharon and Kenny Stidham of Cynthiana and the late Randy Withrow of Winchester, Ky.
    Great-grandparents are Grover Scott Sr. and Sheena Scott of Cynthiana, and Seth and Pat Withrow of Paris, Ky.

  • Reunions

    COPES
    The 42nd annual Copes family reunion will be held on Sunday, Aug. 4 at the Raphael Patrick Fellowship Hall at Curry United Methodist Church. A potluck lunch will be served at 1 p.m.
    All family and friends are invited to attend.

    MARSH
    The descendents of Nicholas Corbin and Mary G. Holton Marsh will hold their annual family reunion on Sunday, Aug. 4 at 1 p.m. at the Elks shelter on US 62 East. A potluck meal will be served. Plates, cups, utensils and drinks will be provided. Come and enjoy the food, fun and fellowship.

    10 years ago . . .
    Births announced this week are: Shelby Elizabeth Gross, July 18, daughter of Zachary and Hannah Gross; Austin Wayne Mullen, July 14, son of David and Joyce Ann Mullen.
    The first annual Youth Livestock Show and Sale will be held Saturday at the 4-H grounds. After the show, the livestock will be sold. The children are in need of support, buyers for the animals or donations.
    Youth flag football interest sought for Harrison County. The league would be for 6-7 year old children.

  • Suttons to celebrate 60th anniversary

    On July 24, 1953, Louis Earl Sutton, son of the late Roy and Lena Sutton, and Evelyn Florence Henson, daughter of the late Nanny and John Henson, were joined in holy matrimony at the Baptist Church parsonage in Germantown with the Rev. W. E. Maners presiding.
    In the past 60 years, Louis has earned the respect throughout many communities by the friendly relationships he has acquired. Although mostly self-employed, he served as an employee of Cleveland Twist Drill in Cynthiana for eight years.

  • Walters plan trip for 50th anniversary

    Mr. and Mrs. Art Walters celebrated their 50th wedding anniversary on June 9, 2013 at The Bell House in Lexington, Ky. Out of town guests included Bill and Jan, Kevin and Michele, and Emma Platt from Tampa, Fla.
    They were married June 1, 1963 at Cynthiana Methodist Church by the Rev. Henry Walters, uncle of the groom. She was the former Freda Jane Platt, a native of Cynthiana, graduate of Cynthiana High School Class of 1959. Art graduated from Harrison County High School Class of 1955. They have lived in Lexington since 1972.

    The Henry N. and LuMara Fryman family reunion will be held July 21 at Unity Christian Church on Hwy. 36 W. Cynthiana, Ky. Descendants include families of Edward and Nettie Fryman, Ottis and Minnie Fryman, Florence and Dove Wagner, Ada and Wilford Wagner, Clara and Orie Florence, Ida Jane and James Snapp.
    A potluck lunch will be served at 1 p.m. Cutlery will be provided. Bring drinks. Come and enjoy family, fellowship and good food.

    Brantley Clifford Slucher was born to Jakob and Jenny Slucher of Cynthiana on May 20, 2013 at Harrison Memorial Hospital.
    He weighed 6 lbs. 4 oz.
    Maternal grandparents are Tressie Faulkner of Cynthiana and Jerry Faulkner of Berry; maternal great-grandparents are Martha Brown and the late Donald Brown and Adrian and Georgia Faulkner.
    Paternal grandparents are Steve and Cathy Slucher of Cynthiana; paternal great-grandparents are Mary Carr of Cynthiana and the late Martin Carr and Faye Slucher of Cynthiana and the late Hugh Slucher.

  • Keith Lee Jones Thompson Prather

    Keith Lee Jones Thompson Prather was born to Steven and Brenda Prather of Berry, Ky., on July 5, 2013 at Harrison Memorial Hospital.
    He weighed 7 lbs. 3 oz., and is welcomed by his brothers, Robert Prather and Jesse Thompson, and sisters, Sheawanda Thompson and Larrinda Prather.
    Maternal grandparents are the late James S. Thompson and Barbara Thompson of Cynthiana.
    Paternal grandparents are Larry and Linda Prather of Berry; paternal great-grandparents are Mattie Brannock and the late Robert Brannock.

    * The Cynthiana-Harrison County Museum is located in the old Rohs Theatre Building on Walnut Street. Volunteers open the museum for you and yours on Fridays and Saturdays, 10 a.m.-5 p.m. There is no charge for admission.
