    HCHS CLASS OF 1964
    The Harrison County High School Class of 1964 will be having its 50th class reunion Oct. 17 and 18.    
    Activities will begin at 5 p.m. on Friday, Oct. 17, with a guided tour of Harrison County High School.  
    After the tour, an informal evening will be held at The Vault, which will begin at 6 p.m.   

  • Perraut hosts September meeting, Ross presents program

    The Falmouth Road Homemakers met Sept. 3 at the home of Pat Perraut with the lesson on gardening given by Phyllos Ross. The Falmouth Road Homemaker group is one of the original homemaker groups in Harrison County.
    The club currently has 16 members and meet on the first Wednesday of every month from September through May. Those interested in attending a homemaker group are always welcome. You can speak with a current member of the homemaker group to find out the next meeting place and enjoy a day filled with laughter, fun, food, and education.

    10 years ago . . .
    Births announced this week are: Corbin Augustus Power, Aug.  31, son of Doug and Nickie Power; Ashley Ann Cer’e Worrell, Sept. 15, daughter of Tony and Christine Worrell.
    Officials of Fifth-Third Bank are looking at several options for the soon-to-be vacant Main Street property. One choice is for the building to be donated to the City of Cynthiana for its City Hall. Fifth-Third’s new building is under construction on US 27 South. The Main Street property will be appraised and a decision will follow.

  • Tatum Todd Lail

     Tatum Todd Lail was born to Austin Ishmael Lail and Kaitlin Ann Johnson of Cynthiana on Sept. 17, 2014 at Central Baptist Hospital, Lexington.
    She weighed 7 lbs. 2 oz.
    Maternal grandparents are Todd and Darla Johnson of Cynthiana; maternal great-grandparents are Terry Johnson and the late Barbara Johnson, Bob and Patsy Lilley, Joan Gaunce and the late Russell Gaunce; maternal great-great grandparents are Lucille Johnson, the late Beverly Johnson, and the late Reynolds Gaunce.

  • Omega chapter celebrates Beginning Day Aug. 25

    The Omega chapter of Beta Sigma Phi has begun the new sorority year by celebrating Beginning Day on Aug. 25 at the home of Judy Judy. The social committee planned a committee salad meal, with every member bringing items to put in the salad.
    Charlene Dawson, president, welcomed everyone back, and thanked Pat Terhune’s daughter for making the invitations. Dawson distributed the yearbooks, with all the activities and plans for the year.

  • LVBPW seeking award nominations

    The Licking Valley Business and Professional Women (LVBPW) is seeking nominations from the community for three awards that are given locally and will also be presented to the State.
    Local awards will be given during a luncheon held in October 2014.
    The three awards are: Woman of Achievement, Woman of the Year, and Business Equity.

    FOOKS/FRENCH
    The Fooks/French reunion will be held Saturday, Sept. 27 at the Claysville Christian Church shelter. A potluck lunch will be served at 12:30 p.m. Plates, utensils and meat will be furnished. Please bring drinks, lawn chairs, old and new photos.

    COURTNEY
    The descendents of James John and Will Courtney will hold their annual reunion on Saturday, Oct. 4 at the Pleasant Green Church fellowship hall. Once again there will be a white elephant sale. Bring your gift, family, friends and food.
    The potluck meal will begin at noon.

  • Jayce Keith Harding

    Jayce Keith Harding was born to Shanna Cole and Chad Harding of Cynthiana on Sept. 3, 2014 at Harrison Memorial Hospital.
    He weighed 8 lbs. 14 oz., and is welcomed by his brother Conner Harding.
    Maternal grandparents are the late Glenda and Roger Cole, Randy and Julie Cole of Cynthiana; maternal great-grandparents are the late Charles and Mary Cole and the late Patsy and William Jett.

  • Raelyn D. Gaunce

    Raelyn D. Gaunce was born to Nicholas Ray Gaunce and Ashley Lynn Hatfield of Cynthiana on July 29, 2014 at Central Baptist Hospital, Lexington.
    She weighed 8 lbs. 6 oz.
    Maternal grandparents are Royce and Rhonda Hatfield of Cynthiana; maternal great-grandparents are Carole Garrett of Cynthiana and the late Bill Lykins Sr., and the late Raymond and Doris Hatfield of Cynthiana.
