  • Stroub-Rice announce engagement

    Ronda Stroub of Cynthiana and Paul (Brenda Bingham) of Pineville, announce the engagement of their daughter, Samantha Jolynn Stroub to Jason Michael Rice, son of Mike and Georgia Rice of Harrison County.
    Jason is the grandson of Amos and Lora Rice of Cynthiana.
    Samantha is the granddaughter of Jean Anderson of Harrison County.
    The engagement took place on Nov. 26, 2016 in Bell County.  A late spring wedding is being planned. Formal invitations will be sent.

  • Late winter pruning

    In a fit of gratitude, I made a list of the things I loved about my life the other day.  
    I managed eight solid things, none were frivolous; and one prompted the whole exercise: I love warm February days.
    This beautiful February day set into motion a very productive weekend. It felt fantastic to get some good old-fashioned garden clean up done with my husband by my side and the sheep grazing freely about.  
    It makes you feel optimistic about the rest of your life.

    Brantley Matthew Burberry was born to Wesley and Elizabeth Burberry of Paris, Ky., on Feb. 3, 2017 at Harrison Memorial Hospital.
    He weighed 7 lbs., and is welcomed by his brother Codey Matthew Burberry and Hayli Elizabeth Burberry.
    Maternal grandparents are Steve Pelley and Mildred Pelley of Paris.
    Paternal grandparents are Cliff Burburry and Kathy Smith-Burberry of Paris; paternal great-grandparents are Tom Burberry and Vera Rankin and Ernie and Joyce Smith.
