    Cynthiana woman will appear on game show, Deal or No Deal, Oct. 3 and 5. Alecia Whitaker-Pace and husband Jerrod Pace were also married in a ceremony paid for by TV talk show celebrity Ellen Degeneres.

    The descendents of James, John and Will Courtney will hold their annual reunion Saturday, Oct. 7 at the Pleasant Green Church fellowship hall. All you need bring is family, friends and food.
    We will no longer have the White Elephant sale. The potluck meal will begin at 12 p.m.

  • It’s apple harvest time in Kentucky

    September and October is a busy time for Kentucky’s apple growers. Hopefully they’ve chosen the varieties resistant to as many diseases as possible. Ripening times vary from year to year depending on the weather. If apples have coddling moth damage, they will drop up to two weeks before the crop is ripe.

  • Realyn Abigail Johnson

    Realyn Abigail Johnson was born to Hunter Johnson and Macy Johnson of Cynthiana on Aug. 24, 2017 at Harrison Memorial Hospital.
    She weighed 6 lbs. 14 oz.
    Maternal grandparents are Rhonda Eckler and John Eckler of Cynthiana; maternal great-grandparents are Danny Eckler, Judy White, Sharlet Cheek and Jackie Cheek.
    Paternal grandparents are Anita Johnson and Brian Johnson of Cynthiana; paternal great-grandparents are Garry Johnson, Barb Johnson, Billie Hunter and Raymond Hunter.

  • United Methodist Women holds annual county-wide meeting; Hiday to host October gathering

    The annual county-wide meeting of the United Methodist Women was held at the First United Methodist Church in the Sidney Haviland Room on Thursday night, Sept. 7.
    The speaker was John Hodge, chairman, of the Salvation Army. He and his wife Laura were welcomed.

  • Curtis crowned National American Miss in Tennessee last weekend, to compete in National Pageant in California in November

    Katherine Curtis, daughter of Pete and Angela Curtis earned  the  prestigious title of the 2017 National American Miss  Kentucky State at the state pageant  held  Sept. 3.
    She will be attending the  National Pageant to be held in Anaheim, California at Disneyland® during Thanksgiving week, representing  Kentucky, where she will have the opportunity to win her share  of over $500,000 in cash and prizes.

  • Snopeks celebrate 50th anniversary

    Don and Barbara Snopek celebrated their 50th wedding anniversary this year.
    They were married June 10, 1967 at the Cathedral of Christ the King located in Lexington, Ky. Father George Schumacher officiated the ceremony.
