  • Rose-Cooper plan March wedding

    Lindsay Nicole Rose of Cynthaina, Ky., daughter of Trudi and Edward Rose of Cynthiana, and Christopher Wilson Cooper of Mt. Olivet, Ky., son of PeeWee Cooper and Clayton Insko, and the late Ronald Day Cooper, announce their engagement and upcoming wedding.
    The ceremony will take place on March 7, 2015 at 1:30 p.m. at Leesburg Christian Church, with Sammy Harris officiating.
    The bride-to-be will be given in marriage by her parents, Trudi and Edward Rose.
    A reception will follow at Leesburg Christian Church.

  • Levi Thomas Coffey

    Levi Thomas Coffey was born to Steven and Ginger Coffey of Berry, Ky., on Dec. 19, 2014 at Harrison Memorial Hospital.
    He weighed 10 lbs. 4 oz.
    Maternal grandparents are Charles and Ann Courtney of Berry.
    Paternal grandparents are Tom and Dixie Coffey and the late Vivan Coffey, all of Falmouth, Ky.

  • Wildcats in Red Hats chapter competes 11th year together

    In January the Wildcats in Red Hats chapter met at Biancke’s with Wanda Gaunce as hostess and played Lazy Bridge at the home of Gaunce.
    Wanda Jones hosted the February meeting at Paula’s Restaurant and also played bingo.
    The chapter traveled to Rafferty’s in Lexington in March. The day was hosted by Kathy Brooks.
    Hostess Ruth Ann Perraut planned the day at Wilshires in Georgetown for the April get-together.
    In May, Marian Crawford hosted the ladies at The Cellar in Lexington.

  • Woman’s Club of Harrison Co. holds February luncheon

    The Woman’s Club of Harrison County met Friday, Feb. 13 for their monthly luncheon and meeting.
    Anna Ruth McLoney presided over the event. She welcomed club members and led all in the Pledge of Allegiance.
    Sue Burrier shared Spiritual Values and offered the blessing of the meal. The luncheon was catered by Layne Tussey. She served a meal of pork cutlettes, mashed potatoes, broccoli casserole, waldorf salad and dessert.

  • Indian Creek Homemakers, along with Hospice, presents The Conversation Project

    The February 2015 meeting of the Indian Creek Homemaker Club provided a special opportunity for all members and guests. The club hosted the nationally acclaimed program, “The Conversation Project,” facilitated by the Hospice of the Bluegrass Cynthiana Office staff who are experts in end-of-life care and issues.

  • Birthday celebration for Charlie Cooper rescheduled for Feb. 28

    The public is invited to a 90th birthday celebration for Charlie Cooper on Saturday, Feb. 28. The event will be held at the First United Methodist Church in Cynthiana from 2-4 p.m. Bring a special memory or picture. No gifts please.

  • Annual all-chapter social planned for Feb. 23

    Omega chapter of Beta Sigma Pi held its monthly meeting on Feb. 2 at the home of Barbara Snopek. Nine members were present. Favorite family occasions were discussed.
    President Charlene Dawson presented communication from International. Each year, grants and funds are given world wide to organizations and individuals for various situations. These include: Endowment fund, Loan fund, Disaster Relief fund, Breast Cancer Research, Health Research, Scholarship fund, and others.
