    Cub Scouts plan activities: April 14 will be the second annual Kite Festival at Oddville Park; April 21 will be Council Derby in Lexington; May 4-6 is Run for the Roses at Camp McKee; and May 18-19 is an event for Pack 60 - Crossover Ceremony and Camp Out at Little Switzerland on Old Lair Road in Harrison County.

  • Plant symbolism

    Plants have long been associated with symbolism. When the masses needed to be influenced it was more effective using plants and flowers to explain the mysteries of the world because most people were illiterate.  
    You may not have been able to read the words but you certainly could have related to the lessons taught by using flowers as symbols.  
    Christians were very good at this when explaining Christ’s life.

  • Root to host May Omega meeting

    Omega chapter of Beta Sigma Phi met at the home of Bonnie Teater on Monday, April 3. Twelve members were present, and answered roll call by telling what they would like to do better. Replies ranged from speaking softly and wisely, exercising, weight control, yard work and weeds, and golfing, including making a hole in one.
