The Cynthiana Chapter of the DAR met at the home of Karrol Pinney on Dec. 8.
Regent Melinda Rawlings called the meeting to order and welcomed the guest speaker, Juanita Herrington.
The “DAR Ritual,” the “Pledge of Allegiance,” and the “American’s Creed” were recited, followed by singing of the “Star Spangled Banner.”
Herrington gave an interesting review on a new book, Unbroken, by Laura Hillenbrand. The book was based on the life of Louis Zamperini, an Olympic athlete and World War II hero.

Chapel and Rachel Drake Mastin celebrated their 50th wedding anniversary on Sunday, Nov. 25 with their family at Biancke’s Restaurant after attending church together at Indian Creek Christian Church. They were married on Sunday, Nov. 25, 1962 at Curry United Methodist Church in Harrison County.

The community is invited to a performance of Christmas piano music by Dr. Beth Laytart to help raise money for the Harrison County Senior Citizens’ Center.
