    * City of Cynthiana, Ky. -- “Ordinance, Sec.248 - That no automobile, motor car or other vehicle propelled by steam, gasoline or electric power, shall be run or propelled upon any of the streets or alleys of the City of Cynthiana at a higher rate of speed than 10 miles per hour, and when going around any corner or past any intersection of streets the rate of speed shall be reduced to not exceeding five miles per hour.”

  • Maddie Mae Swearingen

    Maddie Mae Swearingen was born to Clint and Rebecca Swearingen of Cynthiana on June 26, 2017 at Harrison Memorial Hospital.
    She weighed 7 lbs. 6 oz., and is welcomed by her brother Cole Riley Swearingen.
    Maternal grandparents are Donna Edelman of Cynthiana and the late Stanley Edelman Jr.; maternal great-grandparents are the late William and Rita Mae Callery and the late Stanley and Emma Edelman.

  • Brambles and viruses

    We gave up on the raspberries a couple of years ago, the fruit was so perishable and the plants lacked vigor.
    We would cut the ‘Royalty’ raspberries all the way to the ground each year and forgo an early crop to manage disease but it didn’t seem to pay off.  
    It was never a total loss, but about half the canes would be dried up and diseased by now.    

  • Levis celebrate golden anniversary

    Tom and Sissie Levi celebrated their 50th wedding anniversary on Saturday, June 17 with lunch at Biancke’s Restaurant, Cynthiana.

  • Twenty-three attend AAA Safety Driver Course

    The AAA Safety Driver Course 55 plus, for senior citizens was held June 30, sponsored by the Harrison County Extension Homemakers. The four hour class was held at the extension office with 23 seniors attending this State of Kentucky approved class  taught by certified instructor, Lilla Mason via power point presentation, class discussion and work books.

  • Reunions

    The annual reunion of the late Harley and Lula Kelley Earlywine will be held on Sunday, Aug. 6 at Blue Licks State Park at the small shelter on the hill by the playground.
    A potluck lunch will be served at 12:30 p.m. Everyone is asked to please bring a covered dish and come out and enjoy the day.

    The Harrison County High School Class of 1982 will hold their 35 year reunion on Saturday, Aug. 12 at 8 p.m. at the Cynthiana Country Club.
