  • Homemaker trip to Branson

    The Harrison County Homemakers traveled to Branson, Mo. for their fall trip Oct. 7-11. Fifty-three members and guests enjoyed touring the Branson area, shopping, visiting the College of the Ozarks, and seeing five shows. The shows were: The Duttons, Joseph, Baldknobbers, New Jersey Nights and Shoji Tabucci. The 2014 fall trip will be Oct. 6-11 and will be traveling to Georgia visiting St. Simon Island, Jekyll Island, and Savannah. Plan to join the homemakers for a visit to these interesting sites.

  • Omega recognized as a three-star chapter

    Omega chapter of Beta Sigma Phi sorority met at the home of Charlene Dawson on Monday, Oct. 7 with nine members present. Guests Kay Cox and Cheryl Case were welcomed. 

    Following the opening ritual, members answered roll call by describing how they decorated for Halloween or a special Halloween memory. 

  • Nathan Alan Williams

    Justin and Jillian Williams of Cynthiana announce the birth of Nathan Alan Williams.

    He was born at Harrison Memorial Hospital on Aug. 30, 2013. He weighed 8 lbs. 5 oz. and  is welcomed by his sister Addison Williams.

  • Jace Brantley Walker Dumas

    Jace Brantley Walker Dumas was born Monday, July 29, 2013 to Nicole Marie Armstrong and Kegan Walker Dumas.

    He weighed 7 lbs. 2 oz.

  • Caswells to hold anniversary reception

    Raymond (Jr.) and Jeannette Caswell invites the public to a reception celebrating their 50th wedding anniversary on Sunday, Nov. 3 from 2-5 p.m. at First United Methodist Church.

    They were married on the 31st wedding anniversary of Jeannette’s parents, James and Marie Burden, by the Rev. George Townsend who also officiated at the Burdens’ ceremony.

  • Duckworths observe 50th anniversary with a Caribbean cruise

    Ernest “Cutty” and Charlotte (Laytart) Duckworth observed their 50th wedding anniversary on Oct. 26. The Duckworths were married on Oct. 26, 1963 by Bro. Lovell Sorrell at First Church of God in Cynthiana with best man, Harold Light Duckworth, brother of groom and maid of honor, Ann Roberts, sister of bride.

  • McKees celebrate 65th anniversary

    Julian McKee and Helen Vance McKee celebrated their 65th wedding anniversary on Oct. 23.
    The couple has four children, Larry (Pat) McKee of Carlisle, Ky., Jo Ann (Harry) Havens of Millersburg, Ky., Eddie (Sandy) McKee of Marysville, Ohio and Ronnie McKee of Cynthiana; six grandchildren, and 14 great-grandchildren.
    The couple resides in Paris, Ky.
