  • Museum, Chamber to host Journey Stories Smithsonian exhibit

    The Cynthiana-Harrison County Museum, Chamber of Commerce and the Kentucky Humanities Council, Inc. will explore how Americans claimed their freedom by asserting their mobility with the Smithsonian Institution traveling exhibit Journey Stories, which opens July 16.
    This is the second Kentucky stop for the Journey Stories exhibit. The exhibit will be on display at the Cynthiana-Harrison County Chamber of Commerce, 201 S. Main St. in Cynthiana until Aug. 27. The museum is open from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. Friday and Saturday, and 1 p.m. to 5 p.m. Wednesday, Thursday, and Sunday.

    Robert G. Paynter and the late Beatrice Paynter announce the engagement of their daughter, Rebecca Ann to Cecil Alan Smiley, son of the late Cecil and Mildred Smiley.
    All friends and family are invited to the open church wedding on Sunday, July 31 at 4 p.m. at First United Methodist Church.

    The Henry N. and LuMara Fryman family reunion will be held July 17 at Unity Christian Church on Hwy. 36 W. Cynthiana, Ky. Descendants include families of Edward and Nettie Fryman, Ottis and Minnie Fryman, Florence and Dove Wagner, Ada and Wilford Wagner, Clara and Orie Florence, Ida Jane and James Snapp.
    A potluck lunch will be served at 1 p.m. Cutlery will be provided. Bring drinks. Come and enjoy family, fellowship and food.
