Includes admission to state park. Train will leave Cynthiana at 9 a.m. Returning, leave Natural Bridge at 4:15 p.m.” (Sounds like an interesting trip. What did travelers wear?     Buena Vista High School alumni and attendees are invited to attend a reunion on Saturday, May 21 at Biancke’s Restaurant at 6 p.m. for a time to eat and see old friends.

    MYNEAR
    The Mynear family reunion will be held at the Hunter shelter at Blue Licks State Park from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. on June 4.
    There will be a potluck noon meal. Make a special effort to come this year and meet cousins from California and Oklahoma.

    Births announced this week are: John Clark Best, May 7, son of Gracie and David Best; Sabrina Gail Davis, April 30, daughter of Stacey Davis; Tia Renee Townsend,  May 1, daughter of Matt and Angela Townsend; Garrett James Ryan Tumey, May 2, son of James and Opal Tumey.
    Gov. Paul Patton was the guest speaker of the Maysville Community College/Licking Valley Center’s ground breaking ceremony. Construction to begin on the new $2.6 million facility and should be completed by June 2002.

    Lucas Allen Carr was born to Jason and Tabitha Carr of Cynthiana on March 15, 2011 at Harrison Memorial Hospital. He weighed 8 lbs. 12 oz.
    Maternal grandparents are Gary and Joanna Philpot of Cynthiana; maternal great-grandparents are James Philpot of Cynthiana, Georgia Moore of London, Ky., the late Lillian Emery, and Vivian Philpot and Henry Moore.
    Paternal grandparents are Allen and Debbie Carr; paternal great-grandparents are David and Patricia Biddle, all of Lexington, and the late Tinnie and Barbara Carr.

    Navy Petty Officer 3rd Class Jeremy M. Spears, a 2006 graduate of Harrison County High School, Cynthiana, Ky., recently completed Naval Nuclear Power Training Pipeline.
    During the course with Nuclear Power Training Unit, Ballston Spa, N.Y., Spears received instruction about nuclear theory, chemistry, physics, reactor operations, safety and security. Upon completion of the course, Spears qualified as a Naval nuclear operator.
    Spears joined the Navy in April 2009.
