    Navy Petty Officer 3rd Class Jeremy M. Spears, a 2006 graduate of Harrison County High School, Cynthiana, Ky., recently completed Naval Nuclear Power Training Pipeline.
    During the course with Nuclear Power Training Unit, Ballston Spa, N.Y., Spears received instruction about nuclear theory, chemistry, physics, reactor operations, safety and security. Upon completion of the course, Spears qualified as a Naval nuclear operator.
    Spears joined the Navy in April 2009.

  • Anness-Harris to marry May 21

    Jessica Blount Anness of Cynthiana, daughter of James and Jeanie Anness of Cynthiana, and Christopher Trent Harris of Cynthiana, son of Chris and Kathy Harris of Cynthiana, announce their engagement and forthcoming marriage.
    Anness is a 2001 graduate of Harrison County High School and is employed as a Radiologic Technologist at St. Joseph Hospital.
    Harris is a 1999 graduate of Harrison County High School and is employed as a sales representative for Red Bull.
    The wedding will take place Saturday, May 21 at 4:30 p.m. at Cynthiana Baptist Church.

    Elora Elizabeth Ecklar of Cynthiana, daughter of Tina and David Ecklar of Cynthiana, and Nathan Todd Williams of Cynthiana, son of Lee Williams and Angie Walters of Cynthiana, announce their November engagement and forthcoming marriage.
    Ecklar is a 2007 graduate of Harrison County High School and is employed by Toddler Village Daycare of Cynthiana.
    Williams is a 2006 graduate of Harrison County High School and is employed by Leggett and Platt of Georgetown, Ky.

    * Cynthiana News, Sept. 14, 1854 -- “Town Clock. Next Saturday, in the afternoon or in the evening, the citizens of Harrison County and the town of Cynthiana will please meet at the court house for the purpose of taking into consideration the propriety of placing on the said court house cupola - a Timepiece - one that will be heard, when striking, far and near. Come up, ye men of Harrison.”
