  • Birth announcement

    Kendyl Cleaver Burns was born to Justin and Kristin Burns on Dec. 25, 2010, at Harrison Memorial Hospital. She weighed 8 lbs. 4 oz. Kendyl was welcomed by her brother Caleb Burns.
    Maternal Grandparents are Johnny and Kitty Curtis, maternal great grandparents are the late William C. and Thaddues Brown and the late Clarence and Christine Curtis all of Cynthiana.
    Paternal grandparents are Hoyt and Judy Burns, paternal great grandparents are Montgomery and Patsy Northcutt of Cynthiana and Robert and Lois Burns of Burkesville Ky.

  • Reunions

    BARNES
    The Barnes family reunion, descendants of M.R. and Nancy Scott Barnes, will be held from noon to ? on June 25 at Unity Christian Church in the new shelter. A potluck meal will be served.
    All friends and relatives are invited.

    McCAULEY
    The reunion of David Evans McCauley will be held Saturday, June 18, at noon.
    A potluck will be held at the Harrison County 4-H Center located on US 27 South.
    Family members are encouraged to bring recipes and pictures to share with all.

  • Alice Powell retiring after 34 years at Shady Lawn

    Alice Powell, who has worked at Shady Lawn for 34 years is retiring. She has worked in many positions, but her favorite is the kitchen. Powell said she will miss the residents and has enjoyed working for former owners Jim and Martha Brown as well as the new owners Kelli and Challie Bailey. Her plans after retirement include spending more time with her husband, Charles, and her children, Tracey and Angela Powell, and her grandchildren, Demond, Chris, Jasmine and Dominique. Her last day was June 15.

  • Clyde-Greenwood plan July wedding

    Dr. and Mrs. James Stephen Clyde of Cynthiana announce the engagement of their daughter, Melinda McKee, to Christopher Noel Greenwood, son of Mr. and Mrs. Gary W. Greenwood of Milton, Ky.
    Clyde is the granddaughter of the late W.E. and Mary Clyde and the late William and Anna Myers McKee.
    Clyde is a graduate of Harrison County High School and Transylvania University where she was a member of Delta Delta Delta. She received her Masters degree in gifted education from Georgetown College and is employed by the Bourbon County School District.

    Maternal grandparents are Kristie and Donnie Smart of Cynthiana; maternal great-grandparents are Ruth Ann Brierly and Larry and Cathy Garrison.
    Paternal grandparents are Randall and Beverly Brooks of Cynthiana; paternal great-grandparents are Edward and Mary Brooks, Linda Lancaster and Donald Lancaster.

  • Moore celebrates first birthday

    Amelia Louise Fairfield ‘Emmylou’ Moore celebrated her first birthday March 1, 2011, at the city park in Aurora, Ind.
    She is the daughter of Tony and Kara Fairfield Moore of Aurora, the granddaughter of Linda Harney Moore of Cynthiana and the late Gary A. Moore, and Sandy Fairfield of Aurora and the late Randy Fairfield. Great-grandparents are Helen  Harney of Cynthiana and the late Robert W. Harney and Clyde and Lois Fairfield of Aurora.
