    The descendents of James John and Will Courtney will hold their annual reunion on Saturday, Oct. 3. This year it will be held at the Pleasant Green Church fellowship hall. We will once again have a white elephant sale. All you need to bring is your gift, family, friends and food.

    The Ishmael reunion will be held at the Falmouth Fairgrounds on Sept. 27 at noon. Bring a dish and join us.

  • Renaker Homemakers welcomes all who would like to join the club

    The Renaker Homemakers Club was formed in the late 1940’s. Several of the early members are still a part of the club today. The club meets on the third Thursday of each month at the Episcopal Church Educational building at 10:30, and welcomes all who would like to join the club.

  • Roberts-Toomey to wed Friday

    Lauren Roberts, daughter of Trace and Sarah Roberts of Cynthiana, Ky., and Josh Toomey, son of Dawn and Bill Bryant and Richard Toomey of Georgetown, Ky., announce their forthcoming wedding.
    The wedding will take place on Friday, Sept. 25, 2015 at The Cardome Center Black Barn.  The reception will follow the ceremony.

  • Thomas places fourth at Miss Teen Pageant

    Aletha Thomas of Mount Olivet recently placed fourth out of 75 girls at the Miss Teen Pageant. On top of placing fourth in her age division, she won overall Miss Photogenic out of 139 girls. This won her an all expense paid trip to Nationals, which will be held in December in Orlando, Fla.
    Thomas will be competing in Orlando for over $40,000 cash prizes and a new car. Her trip consists of six days and five nights at the Rosen Center Hotel.

  • Woosleys to celebrate 50th anniversary

    Larry Taylor Woosley and Linda Sue (Cain) Woosley will be celebrating their 50th wedding anniversary on Sept. 17.
    The couple was married on Sept. 17, 1965 by the Rev. George Randolph at Headquarters Methodist Church in Nicholas County.
    A celebration was held Sunday, Sept. 13 at the Elks Lodge in Cynthiana by their children and grandchildren.
    Thanks to all family and friends who helped them celebrate.
