Oaklyn Carol Riley was born to Keela Milner and Patrick Riley of Cynthiana, on Sept. 4, 2014 at Harrison Memorial Hospital.

She weighed 7 lbs. 11 oz., and is welcomed by her brother Gunner Riley.

Last weekend marked open gun season in Kentucky and deer hunters hit the woods in their orange safety gear looking for the epitome of procuring local food. 

I am not a hunter but I certainly respect hunters who lawfully hunt for food. 

The turkey on the kitchen counter was freshly thawed. An open refrigerator illuminated Laura McCoy’s predicament. Long ago she had earned her reputation as a master chef, but in recent years Laura usually disappeared and passed out before her extended family sat down to enjoy the dinner she had prepared.
